I am going to be painting up my Colonial Marines for the Aliens game from Gale Force Nine and I was wondering if anyone could help with identifying the best Citadel colours to use for the different layers of their camouflaged fatigues? I found a guide to using Vallejo colours for Woodland Camo (the costumes in Aliens were made from an unused variant of it) but I’m not able to order the paints without paying a lot for shipping, whereas I have a lot of Citadel paints already and can easily order any I’m missing locally. Thanks!

If you have vallejo course,. Then the dakka paint chart should let you get a close.match in equivalent citadel colours.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

The colour matching between ranges will never be perfect, but it's a great start

I remember painting camo cloaks on Space Marine Scouts a million years ago but I just slapped paint on. There are lots of guides for historical games online and I’m going to test some of them out on paper before I commit to plastic. Will post here accordingly!

In my experience the main thing is to make sure you run the disruptive pattern over edges and corners. The whole point behind the system of camo is to break up outlines, silhouettes and to disguise man-made lines. If you have a few.spots of colour In the middle of a big armour plate it looks odd.
I did a woodland style scheme.on my guard a few years back. It was actually quite fun to paint and wasnt too hard.

Another site to find alternatives. Not as comprehensive as dakkadakka chart but more informative when it has. If numberis 3 or less it's good match.

They look good! Do you remember what paints you used?

Thanks. Current equivalents would be Castellan Green base drybrushed with moot green I think.
Light brown should be Zhandri Dust, dark brown is rhinox hide and.black to.finish.
To.speed it all up I only highlighted on the base colour.
