I have a copy of BSF, Ascension, Escalation, and Deadly Alliance. I was digging around and I am wondering if it is possible/feasible to create an army with nothing but the BSF stuff. Just curious. I mean I have the 1st edition Kill Team, Harlequins, and a couple of Necrons but no big armies. Mostly Kill Team sized bands. Just curious if anyone has done it and if you have a sample army laid out I can look at.

I think there is a formation that allows the BSF models to be fielded in 40k

BSF is a hodgepodge of models. The rules are also difficult to track down.
This combination makes them unpopular to make an army out of, even if a few options might be good to slap into a Chaos Marine list.
If I were to do it, I'd start by creating a decent Chaos Marine army, and then plug in some BSF models as objective/action units that hide in the back and do actions for few points.

With just the chaos-themed models from the core game and escalation, you have almost a combat patrol at 23 power or 460 points.
The drones and archivist come in at 16 power or 320 points. You can use them as unaligned which seems to let you use them in any army.
If you have a copy of the BSF 2019 annual you can use the Master of Possession and Greater Possessed, from the Chaos Marines start collecting set. Combined with the BSF chaos models you would have a excellent roster of models for 40K...

I’m pretty sure you could make a decent chaos army by taking all the chaos models from BSF and maybe adding a few CSM models into the mix. If you’re not too fussed about the look, I’m sure you can find a squad of 5 CSM for cheap 2nd hand.
