I saw some early 40k stuff, back when it was rogue trader and it was written by gamers to be fun for gamers.

I saw the original 40k scenario with rick priestly and how the remnants of the crimson fists were fighting to hold a tunnel that people were evacuating down.

I saw the original 'campaign' in the first chapter approved, the wolf time, which space wolves fighting orks in some pocket ork empire. "Great sport eh wot? Now den what's all dis i hear about an invasion den?"

Has anyone updated some of the very early and fun 40k scenarios for modern editions?

I've never had a particularly hard time adapting scenarios from different game systems to other game systems.
Scenarios tend to be fairly system agnostic a lot of the time.

I'm on a podcast about (video) game design:

And I also make tabletop wargaming videos!

I don't think the modern game is written by gamers to be fun for gamers, adapting old scenarios wouldn't help.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

Crusade is definitely written by gamers for gamers. Still processing my first read of the DE Crusade content- there's pretty much a Commorragh version of Necromunda built into the Crusade rules.

To OP: I don't know anyone who has adapted RT missions, but I have seen someone start playing Rogue Trader as an experiment recently, and it's a pretty cool little project- including a Squat Army.
