Working on a semi competitive AM list right now that can threaten to hold mid board objectives and muster a bit of firepower. Curious which list yall think is better? (See comment for 2nd list)

A couple notes: I am looking to use the strategm to get the extra powers and help to cast with wyrdvanes and primaris psyker. Also, I am a fan of the conscript blob to threaten a midboard obj with obsec and a 3+ save.

I would go for the Leman Russes over the Basilisks. Basilisks are not that good in my experience. They rarely do enough damage to justify their cost. Leman Russes, on the other hand, especially as Catachans, can put in some serious work. I would also be tempted to replace those Plasma Guns in your Veterans squads with Meltaguns. Meltaguns are just going to be more reliable most of the time.

More reliable how?
The Plasma and melta have different targrts. Plasma is a bit better at killing a standard marine. Melta is better vs multi wounds

They kind of have different targets, but a Meltagun can do what a Plasma Gun can do without the risk of your gunners dying. 9th edition is the edition of Meltaguns IMO with 3+ wound stuff becoming more and more common place and Death Guard running around reducing damage.

He's got Harker to re-roll the 1's to hit with the plasma. Also plasma is better against Drukhari.

My question would be how to get them into rapid fire range without them getting wiped, as they are an easy target.

I usually reserve them.

cool
I thought you could only have two tank aces if one was your warlord?

It says instead of selecting a Warlord trait you can select a tank ace ability for one of the vehicles in your army. Doesn't have to be your warlord.

Looks solid anyway.
Only thing I would mention is you have a couple of other options for sentinels: either make them scouts, to get flaming/screening/getting in the way earlier, or split them into 3 x 1 units, since you have the slots, and give them autocannons to screen your backfield and stop those manticores getting messed with while freeing up all your troops to push forward.
Loving the 'melta hedge'.
