We were privliged to attend the first official NZ event since the start of the pandemic last weekend, with our own Nick Jebson squaring up against 22 others. It was a great oppertunity to test out the new Shadowfey terrain in a competitive environment, so we brought 3 tables down with us, The dragons graveyard, Shadowfey ruins and what was dubbed the forest village. All the games we observed on the tables came down to the wire, with each table granting a variety of different benefits and challenges for the players. In the end, lots of fun and tense games were had, and Nick managed to walk away with a respectable 13th placing.

Damn, those look so fething good. I'm in the middle of painting up a 3d printed dark eldar terrain board for 40k right now, and this is....absolutely revolutionary. You can print damn near top-quality terrain for the cost of the cheapest MDF or Fishbowl terrain - I just got finished painting up this huge spire tower, 10" tall, just as a decorative piece 'cus I felt like I wanted a couple big tall towers on the board, and it cost like 4$ to make. Unbelievable.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

I'm currently printing Printable Scenery's Wasteworld. So refreshing to see a Mad Max styled post-apoc setting instead of Fallout for once.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

Lovely boards. Looking great on the play mats as well.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

You should definitely post up some pictures of those spires man! Yeah, printing terrain is probably one of the most cost-effective things I have found In my 18 years in the hobby. Yes, it has an up-front cost (though that has reduced significantly now) but the value from that point on is incredible.

We had so much fun making that terrain. In fact, I'm trying to get some of the locals together for some Gaslands so that I can play on it again XD

Cheers mate, yeah getting a complimentary mat really elevates it. Think all 3 of them are F.A.T mats from Tablewar, though the ruins mat might be from Deepcut Studios
