okay, thanks for the replies. I guess I better wait for the codex before painting my army. I want to keep a uniformity and im not sure which clan to go with. definitly not gonna buy HQ until i know what changes are coming. think only boyz are safe to buy lol.

Not even boyz actually as GW is launching a new line of models which includes buffed boyz. However paintjob is irrelevant ruleswise, paint your models the way you prefer and you'll still be able to play whatever klan you prefer.

just prefer to pick my main boss and go with that color scheme. I actually like all the klan colors but I love a uniform army. Im guessing any buffed boyz will be more points so for taking and holding points on the board i have the thinking old boyz will still be needed. Im kinda torn right now between Goffs and Deathskulls

Gretchin have been 5 ppm since the last points update(whenever that was - earlier this year? late last year?). So it's been awhile.

Unfortunately the only stats i ever saw said 3 so it was quite a shock since with 30 of these buggers it adds up.

I wouldn't expect the Ork codex before August

AI & BFG: / BMG: Mr. Freeze, Deathstroke / Battletech: SR, OWA / Fallout Factions: BoS / HGB: Caprice / Malifaux: Arcanists, Guild, Outcasts / MCP: Mutants / SAGA: Ordensstaat / SW Legion: CIS / WWX: Union

just curious how some people already know whats in it. Ive seen videos already where people are talking about some of the changes in 9. so obviously someone got their hands on it.

It might be more a wishlist or a guess at what is being changed.
If someone has received an advanced copy (if it's coming out summer time-ish that's pretty advanced btw) and they're talking about it then they've lost that privilege of getting first dibs on content.
At most the basic rules included in the model instructions are what's being discussed.

Orks are the next codex after Sisters. Here is a preview of some of the new models:
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/05/07/warhammer-fest-online-day-5-even-more-warhammer-40000/
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/05/03/this-dok-is-so-committed-to-rapid-response-hes-upgraded-his-own-legs/

The beast snaggers army box will be the first opportunity to get the ork codex as it will be bundled in the set with a separate codex available "a short time later". There are still some other new ork models that haven't been previewed yet, including new ork boyz.

There haven't been any rules previews other than a few teasers for Zodgrod.

GW is applying some consistent changes across all codices they update for 9th, so it's not too difficult to guess some of the changes that will be coming. For example, so far all power fists and equivalents have become AP-3 and 2 damage, so it's not a long shot to assume that power klaws will follow that trend.
They have also dropped some spoilers on their warhammer community page and it's likely that we have seen 9th's iteration of Ghazgkhull Thrakka because the datasheet that comes with his box doesn't match the one from 8th edition.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

I was watching something today that said Ghazgkull went up 2 points which is not much compared to what some of the other proposed changes were. I hope hey dont screw him too bad cause Im prolly putting him in my goff army.

Well with outside house playtesting, stuff does leak to some people. There has been talk about DE being very powerful for like half a year. I just don't think there is a big number of people in those circles, so the chance of a big public leak is small. Plus if it did happen, a lot , if not all, people doing the testing would no longer be able to deal with GW, and I don't think the playtesters would like to do that. And unlike MtG insider trading isn't really a thing in w40k.

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

I went through hundreds of videos yesterday so the exact one I cant say but im pretty sure it was Auspex Tactics who gave the point changes in one of this 9th edition orks videos.

That video is from the beginning of 9th, there was a universal overhaul of points on everything.
