Yes a new month rolls on and another mountain of STLs have been released!

First up the awesome Kiethprints video that collects together pretty much everything from the whole month on patreon. There's a lot to view but its well worth a view. There's some really awesome stuff by some new people and smaller campaigns this month (some neat Tau and Imperial and Ork things in there as well as some Eldar and some neat fantasy armies and forces).
Note this is NOT my video, its Kieth's. There are links to the google document, his patreon and others in the description of his video on youtube. If you check his other videos he also does a few summaries of kickstarters with models running this month as well

Next up I'd like to highlight a few Kickstarters that caught my eye this month. Note a few are ending soon so don't dawdle.

Dragon Necromancers by Printmancer
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/printomancer/dragon-necromancer-stl-files-3d-models/description

We have a short thread on the forums already:
https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/798000.page#11130388

An awesome collection of bone-necromancers and draconic models up for grabs. It's entering its last 2 day period so do check it out soon if you want to jump on in!

Jurassic Tribes by Clynche
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/landofpandas/jurassic-tribe/description

A mix of dinosaurs, tribal warriors and mounted dinosaurs, plus a few plant monsters. There's also a free Stegosaurus download. They are in their last few days so, again, be quick on this one.
These are some nice looking sculpts and a slight mix of some classic styles and fantasy elements. Some of these are also pretty huge models like an armoured and platformed brachiosaurus; plus there's also a feathery T-rex in there too.

Spoiler:

Numenera by Lair
https://ksr-ugc.imgix.net/assets/033/240/817/d41ae940fff63b5a0deff53cce007f32_original.jpg?ixlib=rb-4.0.2&w=680&fit=max&v=1619128426&auto=format&frame=1&q=92&s=718fe7a23f4c30008442143caf132de4

Note this runs through MyMiniFactory rather than KS, but its a similar setup, save for one difference in that payments are taken up front not at the end of the pledging period. That said they've more than hit their funding goal and even unlocked the first stretch goal. These are wired and wonderful designs based on the Numenera RPG game system. There's also a thread on Dakka with some further details. This one has some time left and won't end until next month.

Myself - my printer is still offline this month so I can't post up neat photos sadly, though good news is my little heater is now on order and is somewhere in either San Francisco (where the tracking says its been for over a week) or (more hopfully) on a boat/plant heading across the Atlantic. Fingers crossed I'll be back to printing either late this month or next month.

That said I've not stopped and I've picked up a nice bundle of stls this month.

First up I jumped on bLU.ARt's creatures
https://www.patreon.com/bLUARt_Miniatures/posts
https://www.myminifactory.com/users/bLUARt

This guy is very new and its pretty much the first month, however he's the only person I've seen doing some really neat grim-dark sci-fi designs with a gieger influence and style and yet also being his own designs (not copycatting). I think he's still got some room to mature here and there with the designs, but what I've seen is very solid work. I think if he doesn't catch your eye this month, its certainly a patron to keep your eyes on if you've a lot of the skull and gothic styles. I really want to print some of the little monsters from this as soon as my printer is working once again.

Papsikels

A fun month with very Aliens 2 inspired designs as well as a few of their own ideas (spider aliens!) which they are following up in June with a further set with both humans and aliens (so far they've previewed a dog-alien; a pin-up alien as well as full space suits, sentry towers and more.

Last Sword Miniatures
https://www.patreon.com/lastswordminiatures/posts
https://lastsword.com/en/

I'm enjoying their take on lizardmen style warriors and creatures, this month its neat trio of salamanders. Their Patreon is also neatly done in that they do 3 armies a month, but you can opt for all or only one of the three (done by messages in the patreon which they are very quick to respond too). So you can get just what you want from them. This is part of my dabbling in shifting my 3D printing from just dragons and fun things to actually doing an army. Though I'm torn and my force might end up a mix of LSM models and the stuff by Lost Kingdom (who did their big lizardmen ks a year or so back, but still sell their models stls retail). Lost Kingdom are currently doing some neat dark elves which do tempt me, but I might well not back them for them and instead pick up a few lizards with the hope that they'll pair well with the LSM designs.

Mini Monster Mayhem
https://www.patreon.com/minimonstermayhem/posts
https://www.myminifactory.com/users/Mini%20Monster%20Mayhem

Continues to impress with both supports and model designs. The designs this month are all wild things, elementals, spells and even a super awesome looking storm elemental dragon! The fire spell even has a neat "eye of sauron" style central point to it whilst the dijin of earth shows off a darker side with slaves bound to carry the wealth of the earth.
Also next month is dinosaurs and over in the discord there's already a preview of a 3 headed t-rex which will also come with a feathered single head version.

Printed Obsession

I've dipped into this one for a month and also picked up some fun stuff over on their MMF as well. Fun and creative with a dark edge is how I'd describe a lot of their stuff. Sculpts are very nicely made and designs and they are another I really want to get some prints off the build plate!
Also a heads up, their MMF has a free folder with a very nice selection of well made fan-art designs.

Don't forget there's Scoundrels of the Damned Ruins finishing up this weekend.

Basically all the parts you need to make a 3D printable Mordheim warband. Or cast resin one if you'd prefer.

Some fun optional bits to mess with in the add ons as well.

Can someone explain to me, why we have limited slots to buy something? I just don't get it. It's not like a canvas shortage. I mean it's all ones and zeroes.

So why not be able to buy the packages that are all in one? New to this part of the hobby so like to understand before I go all in. I would like to buy some of the stuff, but just don't get the "limited supply". Is that like a GW tactic just to get people to make compulsive purchases?

Also if bought how do we get the files? Are they emailed to us, or do we have to go to a site or something to get them. I also don't understand is why would they not be ready now if someone paid for it? It's not like we have to wait for production, all the work should have been done now, correct?

Just trying to learn and understand something new.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

With kickstarters the core models tend to be done and then there are a few more that are at concept stage that get developed over the course of the campaign and maybe for a few months afterward.

The ones I’ve backed have used a mixture of retail websites like MyMiniFactory or even google drive downloads.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Kickstarters vary campaign to campaign. Some will be all complete before they go up; others will be getting funding to then pay for designers to work on the models. Between those two extremes there's a gauntlet of variations.

Limited slots are in two forms
1) Earlybirds. These are purely discount options designed to tempt you to back quickly so that they can more easily reach goals and such.

2) Merchant tiers. These are often numerical limited and, behind the scenes, can be regionally limited too. This is where you have the right to print and sell the models (not the stls). They are limited because otherwise too many people would sign up and that devalues the value of a merchant their for the merchants themselves. It also helps those offering them to have more practical limits on managing and keeping an eye and supporting their merchants.

Kickstarter as a system will not charge you until the campaign ends and won't pay the KS organiser for a few weeks after that. Hence why they will always have a delay on purchase. My Mini Factory is different as that charges up front, but again models only appear after the funding process.

IT might just be 0s and 1s but the system works to generate hype and sales.

Patreons are different, but again will vary a lot. Some will have models ready for the 1st of the month; others will be mid-month before they are finished and ready.

Basic Aid have a KS going for... well, bases! Base pledge is about 12 quid for 8 themed sets of 10 round bases in various typical sizes (6 sets come in square as well) and all the assets to create new ones by physical or digital kitbashing. Stretch goals are options for printing as base toppers instead (unlocked) and new themed sets as well as a couple of larger diorama bases.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/basicaiddesign/epic-modular-bases-for-miniatures

I can vouch for their quality, they added some of their bases to the Pit Fighter KS from Bloody Sword Miniatures last year and those printed nicely (in resin, and fairly well in FDM too for larger sizes). There's also a few free samples on the KS page.

For their Patreon this month.Avatars of War has a few GW style fantasy Orc heroes and some multipart orc skeletons.

I don't have a printer but i'm hoping the orc skeletons will make it to retail, i really like the idea of a Weirdnob shaman who has his own magically bound retinue of undead orcs.

Matstation has some previews on their Facebook page for some not-dark-eldar. The roles are clear, but a very non-GW aesthetic.

I’m always thrown by TitanForge and the many posts the put on their Patreon.
So June a full preview has just gone up showing everything you get.
But for this months May I can’t see a post that shows it all the photos etc, just a backer only one for when it came.

They say Full Reveal with all the pictures, but for some months I don’t see one.
Not sure if I’m just missing it..
