Hello folks,

I started to play some HH games and, if I'm not mistaken, custodes' gear does not include any weapon with the skyfire special rule. As a result, I'm suffering so much to play against aircraft and, even worse, flying monstrous creatures. Since I really don't like the orion, what is the best option to get some anti-air weapons? A marine allied detachment of missile lauchers? If yes, which legion should I do?

Looking forward for your answers,

Spado

Uhhh I guess that would be your only option?
Can you take fortifications? A cheap agis defense line, your best option is still probably gonna be bringing some sort of flyer

To many unpainted models to count.

Telemon has plenty of shots. Or just ally in some Auxilia ant take those sexy Thunderbolts/Avengers/etc.

I always play a telemon, but you always fire snapshots, so I'm not sure it is the best option.

Where ever the Emperor needs his eyes

You've also got the option to use the Ares gunships.

Even fishing for 6s you can still force grounding tests through sheer volume of fire, and even just scaring a plane or FMC into jinking through the possibility of death is sometimes enough. If you tend to see single flyers/FMCs rather than swarms of them you can probably get away with ignoring them most of the time or pointing your Telemon or las-bikes at them occasionally.

As to allied options most of these aren't cheap simply because of the HQ+Troops requirement, since HQ and Troops don't often have skyfire options themselves. Most of the best AA in the game comes on vehicles that don't really benefit from Legion traits; so it's just a matter of working out how to get a flyer or a Mortis Dread or some skyfire Thallax (which move to heavy support when they buy skyfire, unfortunately) into your list without weakening your core battle plan too much.

Snap shots.

*Shudders*

I'm honestly shocked they never updated the HH rules to the more modern 40K ruleset.

If you want to play 9th you can play 9th. Leave those of us who don't want to play 9th with something, please?

I apologize for the orthographic error; anyway they won't ever update HH to current 40k rules because some people don't like the new rules.
Personally, I enjoy 40k but all my friends stopped playing and jumped onto the HH train, so I was forced to adapt to the situation.

If they could NEVER do this, that would be super duper to me.

As for what you can do for AA in HH. uhhhh spit balling here, you could always pay the 200 points to take a firestorm redoubt? Its automated fire, but 96" of Heavy 4 twin linked, skyfire, interceptor las canons? 30 points more make it auto fire as BS3? not the best but just throwing it out there.

Take 2 Telemons, one with double Arachnus. 14 s7 shots, even hitting on 6, WILL cause at least a few hits. And if you stay put, the Bolt Launcher will add with 10 S5 rending shots as well.
