Now I get playing on 60x44 when that's the board surface you have, but actively going out of your way to shrink a 6x4 mat down to 60x44 makes zero sense to me.

I'm finding more and more that people are just putting the (wooden) borders round the mat automatically, so I may as well get used to the smaller size. I'm agnostic about the size now anyway, it doesn't bother me, so I lean towards 'the standard'. Not saying I'll exclusively do that though, I'm sure it'll vary.

Looking back it was probably over when I deployed the termies instead of deep striking them. Without them, I could have probably fit everything else out of sight turn 1, and turn 2 had them come down at full strength and absolutely wreck like 3 units of elves. I just didn't want to deep strike them because I was feeling overconfident in AoC.
