How do!

This is kind of a background rooted topic. But, also ideally married to your own life experience.

Example? I like to think I’m a fundamentally moral person. I do all the immoral things I want. It just so happens the amount of immoral things I want to do is exactly zero. As in, objectively immoral things (murder and that). Please do not go into what you consider subjective/objective here on Dakka. I, sure you’ve good arguments, just….not here, yeah?

But. Profession wise? I’m largely bound to rules. I’ve had some solid wins under those rules. At other times, they’ve prevented me doing what some might consider The Right Thing.

In terms of employment? I’m the equivalent of a Grunt. I do what’s asked of me, and I do it pretty damned well. When I have a competent, appreciative manager it’s all good. But…when I’ve a crappy, egotistical manager more interested in their own progression than helping me find ways to shine?

So, I’d pigeonhole myself as Perturabo. My past has absolutely left chips on my shoulders. But I’ve had particularly awful line managers who took all my work, all the glory that was rightfully mine, took the credit for it and worse, then passed my pet projects on to peers who claimed “All Me Own Work, Guv”

Yes I know there’s more to Perturabo than that. But he’s still the Primarch I associate with the most. Like me, he was given frankly thankless tasks, achieved them with aplomb, only to be force time and time again to see others given the resulting laurels.

But, Dear Dakka…..how about you?

Now I’ve kind of bared my soul here, to a certain extent. Please do not feel compelled to do the same. I would ask you share some background, but it’s not essential. Your go only as deep into reasoning as you see fit.

This is an incredibly weird and personal topic in my opinion, I don't know any of you well enough to get into any of this but I will say, I'm First legion through and through. Merir Astelan did nothing wrong, I'd side with him every time. You can make of that what ever you want.

The rewards of tolerance are treachery and betrayal.

Remember kids, Games Workshop needs you more than you need them.

Probably Sanguinius or some of the Blood Angels characters; does my best to be as goody-two-shoes as possible, and try to be as helpful as possible, but more prone to anger than I'd prefer.

I came here to post "In before 'Magnus did nothing wrong'", but I see Gert beat me to the punch. Well played, well played indeed.

After reading MDG's post, I'm going to have to come to the same conclusion. I'm in a job where I'm always told what I do is vitally important to the company, but ultimately I'm treated with very little respect, not given all the resources I need, my concerns are ignored, others get all the credit for the company's successes, etc.

So, yeah, while I wish I was a Guilliman, I'm really a Perturabo.

"You listen to me. While I will admit to a certain cynicism, the fact is that I am a naysayer and hatchetman in the fight against violence. I pride myself in taking a punch and I'll gladly take another because I choose to live my life in the company of Gandhi and King. My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love. I love you Sheriff Truman." - Twin Peaks

In most situations I'm 100% Vulkan; slow to anger(life in general), determined(work ethic), likes to work with metal(hobbies not 40K related), compassionate and protective(family). But when something needs to be done, strikes like a Drake with wrath and fury(work & life).

In the very few circumstances where my anger is rather evident my friends would say I'm Leman Russ(damn viking blood)!

Ferrus Manus.

He is direct in the way he talks. If there are issues at hand, he will address them without beating around the bush. Thinking about it he comes off as being German with a talent for engineering and a knack for efficiency. Ups, and I am planning to paint the AoD box as IH on a single weekend too.
