basics of the strat
-2 devastator units in a rhino.
-Turn 1 move 12" then use the strategem "wind swift" to move an additional 12" plus d6 for the advance move from the strategem. Total 24"+d6".
-Use lightning debarkation on the 2 devastator units inside, and move or advance with the units.
-Fire everything and use the cherubs to double shoot 1 guy. Dont forget 1 guy each squad hits on 2+ from the sgt.
Additional things to improve the units performance could include;
-Have a captain and or a lieutenant in a drop pod to drop near them for the aura or rerolls.
-you can steady stance one of the dev squad for 2 cp to count as stationary so you hit on 3s with 1 unit.
-if you advanced with 1 it can hunters fullisade to count its weapons as assault and not take penalties for advancing and firing.
-also if you have retrieve data or any other actions secondary you can steady advance them to do the action and still fire.
-you could have all multimeltas and get in "melta" range so every weapon is d6+2 dmg.
-you could have 1 hvy bolter so you can use the strategem "hellfire shells" and get a reliable 3 mortal wounds off by making that devastator hit on 2+ and have a captain nearby to rerol 1s.
synergies not boosting unit performance could include;
-drop pod units and bolster the whole attack.
-Have bikes, speeders, and/or flyers back them up.
-Have foward deployers in the area they are going to, to have the area "clear" of enemy units.
