Subject: Anyone take miniature paints on a plane?

Hi all,
Given ever-mounting restrictions on what you are allowed to bring on board, I just wanted to ask if anyone's ever taken a small supply of acrylic miniature paints on a plane. (Not for painting during the plane ride.) I'm thinking of a small set of maybe 6 to 8 colors intended specifically for a couple of miniatures, not a large, comprehensive set.
Were you allowed to bring them onboard in a carry-on? Or is checked luggage the only way to go?
My current understanding is you can bring non-flammable liquids of 3.4 ml or less onboard - that easily covers small jars of miniature paint - BUT if you bring them in a carry-on, you can only bring as many of those small containers as will fit in a transparent 1-quart bag. Given that many will also be travelling with other things that need to be in that bag (toothpaste, for one,) that may not be much.
I'm also assuming that bringing a small jar of lacquer is off the table, as lacquer is flammable.
So to anyone who's flown with miniature paints recently, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've always checked them. Assume the worst when it comes to the TSA.

Put them in your checked luggage and ensure they are inside a ziplock or similar in case they leak. I only did once post 9-11, just don’t bring them in your carry on.
You can but it’s best to just put them in a checked bag.

If you can put in in hold, then do so. I can't see any reason to put them in hand luggage?

Just check them. But make sure they're sealed in multiple layers of packaging, especially if you have GW pots that don't screw closed. There's a huge pressure difference at cruising altitude and you may have leaks.

I’m sorry I can’t add to this, but I can now only think of *swearysweary* paints on a plane. Just make sure you sit next to Sam L Jackson!

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
