Questions in the title.

I personally think the story of Angron before the emperor found him could do with padding out further, unless that’s already been done. I’m thinking more about what we don’t know about him before the butchers nails. The impression I have is that he was some cross between Conan the barbarian and Jesus. I wonder if they will make it more tragic by revealing that he chose to have the butchers nails in order to save others

Angrons childhood is fairly well documented already and he's never been close to a Jesus figure.
Angron landed on Nuceria and was attacked by some form of Xenos, possibly the Aeldari who foresaw what he would become and attempted to stop it. He was then found by the high riders who took him to the city of Desh'ea to become a gladiator slave alongside a group of other slave children. They were thrown into a pit and were whittled down until Angron was the only survivor, whereupon he was made a gladiator proper and was given the name Angron-Thal'kr, the Child of the Mountain. Angron received the Nails surgery as punishment when he refused to fight his "father" in the pit. Angron then leads his revolt and is taken from his gladiator family by the Emperor, leading to his hatred of his true father.

No, he had an ability to soothe the fear and pain of others as noted with the first batch of children he then had to kill. He lost that ability when the high-riders implanted the Nails. The tragedy was that he had to kill his gladiator father, then lose all of his gladiator family, then forced the Nails onto his Legion as a sick joke because by that time Angron was a broken man. The tragedy is that everything past the death of his first father could have been avoided but the Emperor didn't want to invade Nuceria because of "the big picture". The Emperor is still capable of making mistakes and this was one of them. But again that's the whole point, the Emperor is just another tyrant trying to rule the galaxy and the Primarchs were tools to accomplish that goal.

Angron retcons? No, and I wouldn't care anyway.

World Eater/Khorne retcons? Gods, I hope so. Melee-crazed one note units with axes needs to stop. Make crazy ranged weapons that fire spines and make people erupt in a welter of gore. Khorne does not care (as long as it isn't psychic). They need to be a diverse range, not just a bunch of idiots trying to jog their way to victory.

Yeah they are constantly painted as barbarian butchers which is so limited, there should be an element of genius psychopath about them, they apothecaries should have turned their role into one of a mad scientist that keeps trying to o discover new and more efficient ways to spill blood for khorne

I'm disappointed that warbands like the Wrath and Brazen Beasts might be folded into the World Eaters. I liked them being their own thing, with totally different origins.

...you really need to learn to do some basic research before starting these things.

I expect some minor retconning, but not much, most of that retconning will be justifying new units in the codex and the lack of old classics. much like the death guard

I hope they un-ret-con Khorne back to having more nuance like he did when originally written. I understand his khore essence embodying the aspect of human psychology of rage to the point of just wanting to make the world burn, but that shouldn't be EVERYTHING. In particular I would note that nothing inspires anger quite like injustice, and when it comes to war there need to be creators to forge the tools of destruction.

I'd say this is unfounded. Nurgle warbands (the cleaved, the Purge) have stayed on their own despite the DG Codex. They even have cameos in the Codex but are clearly separate. Funnily enough, before the DG Codex a FW book actually stated them to be part of the DG, while GW retconned them back.
GW even let the Purge fight the DG on Vigilus, which I found pretty cool.

Considering the Brazen Beasts rules are still legal from that Warzone book that doesn't get sold anymore, I'd be surprised to see them in.
That being said, I can name Kharn's Butcherhorde, Gladiator Group 138, and the Skulltakers off the top of my head for Warbands and honestly, they're all the same modus operandi. I'm interested to see what the subfactions are.

What has been retconned for the DG was their limited use of vehicles. Now we even have two subfactions focussing on tanks and Daemon engines. The Vindicator, while being the most prevalent tank in their DG has been replaced by the PBC and is not in the Codex.
So I'd expect whatever new and unique stuff comes out for World Eaters will be one of their main aspects even though we never heard about it before .

Going from DG and TS all we know is there will be 8 of them

The idea that’s being passed around of retcons being bad is very funny to me. I participate in the Transformers community, whose IP is built on retcons.
