Hello.

I was considering the possabilaties of a count as Nurgle army. Mostly because buying a new army is rather exspensive. And there are some good proxy opertunaties. Demons are quite versatile. My first thought was using Crypt Ghouls as plague bearers. You get 20 for the price of 10, so that is not so bad. But then I considered dryeads. A bit more exspensive. But they look quite narly and good. The flying archetrs can be modefied/converted to have just a melee option and be flying drads. What do you think? I am mostly conserned if they will have the right sieze.

Exspanding on that would the bigger trefolks make for good soulgrinders and/or great unclean once? I am unsure about base siezes, and how big they will be.

They're your dudes so do what you want. Daemons can also manifest in basically.any form they want so its justified by the fluff.

Yeah, it is a good match. What I was wondering was the sieze of the models. Especially finding a good proxy for the soulgrinder seems dificult.

The great unclean one is one the same base as the AoS goblin spider. And that would make for a great centerpiece, so I might do that. It is also one cannon short for beeing a souldgrinder.

It's a pretty cool idea thematically, as the Maggotkin and Sylvaneth are mortal enemies in AoS.

If you spend even a small amount of effort at making them looking nurgly and make some attempt at getting the rough dimensions no one is likely to be bothered by it.

If your just putting the models on the table as is, people might take some offence.

Dryads can work as plaguebearers with some conversion, ghouls are much smaller. As for the rest it is the size that's the issue. Drycha is barely larger than a hellbrute, treelord is nowhere near enough bulk to be a GUO, flyboys are tiny compared to Nurgle flies (32mm base vs 60mm base). Alarielle is a reasonable approximation to soul grinder size, but far more expensive.

I would imagine the orcs and goblin spider would be a good base for the soulgrinder. Perhaps put a tyranid gun out of it's eggsack to make it more ranged. Spiders and trees would look good together.

What would be a good version of the nurgle flies?

What is the goal here? Because if saving money is the idea that's one thing, cool conversion ideas another. It'll take at least $10 of effort and bits to convert a $60 arachnarok into a $70 soul grinder, for example.

Hmm, I think it doesn't fit. Its not a good idea.

IMO Sylvaneth bears far more resemblance to Tzeentch or Slaanesh than Nurgle.

That said, I always appreciate conversions and I'd certainly have no objections to playing against such an army.

From what I've read, the forces of Nurgle are gradually consuming most of the outlying regions of the realm.

Just throwing it out there: I've always thought it would be neat to do an Isha-themed Nurgle army. It's canon that eldar spirit stones left laying around long enough sometimes grow into spooky wraith trees. I like the idea of Nurgle collecting those when he can and planting them in his garden near Isha so she can enjoy the company of her children (as they suffer and grow into dryads and tree spites and so forth.)

Hm, it is tricky because for the most part Nurgle just isn't very expensive. The main money saver would be 3rd party options for certain options (Beasts of Nurgle, GUO, Heralds). Ebay has some good resales from box sets.
