I've been assuming a $300ish price on the big boxes, unless there's going to be any price consideration for the old models. I'd be happy with $250 for sure.

200-250 dollars sounds really optimistic IMO. That would be a guaranteed buy for me if that was the case. 300 is dodgy though cause the tax would push it closer to 320-330 bucks, harder to justify for such old models.

I do wish we had more info on base sizes though. As i'm sitting on some unbuilt empire state troops that I wouldn't mind preparing ahead of that factions release.

I said screw it and am assembling the old models I have on their original bases. I'll either end up playing TOW or 6th ed so I'm splitting the difference and will have models based for both

A return to some of the simple 'regiment' molds would be great to get people built and playing quickly, but they'd be even older models and look even more out of place next to the modern plastics they're adding.

I am shocked by the reissue kits being run in metal. Seems like resin is reserved for new items so far, and we assume awkward things like the Trebuchet. It'd be killed if they sold the metal bits for things like Grail Knights as upgrade kits for the plastics you're getting in the starter box but they obviously aren't going to do that.

Gonna be really interesting to see how prices compare to aftermarket for things like Grail Knights and the reliquiae.

You can probably look at middle-earth for an equivalent to that. 2 infantry metals are £16, a mounted and foot hero are close to £30. The other stuff will probably cost more because "new".

3x metal Rohan Riders for $60 feels expensive but is a hell of a lot cheaper than buying 3x Grail Knights right now

Also, plastic cav kits seem to be $45 for 5x. That'd be fine with me!

For sure, a proper brick of Grail Knights is probably still not going to be cheap.

Seems the prices are what i thought theyd be. Was already planning to skip the metal kits expecting them to be expensive. They seem likely to have a short life and it should be possible to build a decent army without them until gw eventually resculpts them into plastic.

I don't think we've seen anything yet to indicate this will be the case.

Welp now I've gotta build a Kursk of Steam Tanks.

Did I miss something? Are the FW Bret characters not up for pre-order in the US?

I couldn't find them either and that's what I waited in the queue to grab...

Well, I finally got in to the US webstore. Nothing left I want. But it looks like some stuff was just straight up never available on the US webstore at all. Comparing a search on the word "Bretonnia" between US and UK, we didn't get the mounted Yeomen (just the command), no Handmaiden, no Questing Knight on foot, no dice, and no combo pack of mounted and foot standard bearer.

Thanks so much for wasting my time, GW.

Well, you could have checked this before.

** These products have been delayed in the USA and Canada. Please note that while the regular Mounted Yeomen are delayed, the Command Squad will be available on schedule – they’re getting the lay of the land early.

Was that footnote added later? I don't recall seeing that when it first was posted.

I saw an argument over whether or not you had to use the "correct" table size for games. Is that what we've become now?

Reliance on official GW and event rules for every little thing about playing with your dudes has killed any creativity or problem-solving amongst a large portion of the general player base. It's a far cry from looking at old GW publications that open with statements like 'these rules are a framework, if you don't like something or want to try something different, go nuts.' I'll be figuring out how to use content from The General's Compendium in my TOW hobbying, it's easily my new favorite GW book after recently discovering it.

Oh I really like the helmet head on the Bone Giant! Might need one of those as a hobby project...

Nothing about modern GW allows customization to that degree.

Normally I'd agree, but so far this isn't true for The Old World, with units existing ahead of available models and recommendations for how to convert/represent units that don't exist in the Arcane Journals. I don't think we're getting a Mordheim anytime soon but I don't think it'd be as grim if we did. I'm planning on trying to apply 6E Warhammer Skirmish framework with Old World rules and profiles and see how that goes.

Banking on any of the current Old World factions to be getting full line resculpts any time in the relevant future still seems delusional to me.

I remember my River Trolls being a little fiddly to assemble next to how fantastic the Rockgut kit is, but they are still nice and worth picking up!

The 6E Starter Orcs are so good. Really hoping that means we'll see the Empire sprues released as well, those are great Spearman and Handgunners for bulking up ranks quickly.

Lol Elise sold out in my cart by 1:04 US time. Went from having like a $400 cart I was planning on buying to giving up and just ordering the Bret decal sheet.

My Dragon Company shipped the next day from when I ordered them and arrived today. I'm still waiting on my MTO Brets and TKs from the first release...

Good to know I'm not the only one waiting on the MTO Brets.

I did email GW last week as the 180 days had officially passed and got a response that there was a delay in getting stuff from the UK so they at least know I'm still waiting on them, but did not provide a timeframe for fulfillment.

I've also got a big order from the Marauder Giant MTO wave, hoping that doesn't follow a similar path because I'd like to use him and the Orc Sorcerer on Wyvern for an army.

I've also had recent MTOs ship immediately, like the Dragon Company Dwarves. Still waiting on the first wave Bret/TK MTO...

I just got an email that the Marauder Giant and Friends MTO is delayed.

I think by a week if my numbers on the first deadline were right. Which seems odd that they need an extra week after having six months. 'Oi, mate, when were all these boxes to be posted?...'

Lmao yeah I got that email today as well, now targeting to have everything ready to ship by 11/15.

The dude can also just be a short, stocky guy. Bodies come in many shapes but people act like all miniatures must have ideal proportions.

My big issue with the upcoming MTO is trying to figure out how many War Wagons to buy. I want to do a Nuln army but haven't figure out the list yet... thinking 3 is reasonable?

Same, my order is on the way already too. Seems standard with MTO from the past few times I bought some. Only one instance were it took near the 180 days limit with the Marauder Giant, otherwise it always looked like they had everything in stock.

Yeah, it's been nice to get the last few MTOs pretty much immediately after waiting way past the 180 days for the first TOW Bret/TK round and the full lead time for the Marauder Giant wave.

There's also the wizard on dragon mount who might not be quite as monstrous, but gives you more tough flying wizard slots.
