So after the first good while of collecting my first army (orks), I want to start collecting Adeptus mechanicus, but I have never had them before so I would like to ask a couple of questions

1. If there are any specific boxes I should start with.
2. If there are any paints that I should use.

my starting budget is about 500 American dollary doo's

I am just on the newer side so I am not so well-versed in collecting, any tips would help!

AdMech are rough on a budget; you'll find a lot of kits where you're paying $100 for a 100pt unit. If you do go that route I find silver primer helps a lot (especially when you're getting non-GW silver primer for a quarter the price) for making painting go faster, most of your models have a lot of major metallic components.

You may also have luck checking ebay/troll trader/2nd hand sites. Sadly Admech aren't doing so hot right now, so I bet there are many people looking to offload their stuff.

I personally hold onto my armies because I play for the army, not the wins. Many people don't tho, which means good deals if you look.

I'm not an admech player but I have heard that the Xmas box set that is being offered + a battle force box set is a good place to start. At least that's what I've heard so take it with the Daily Recommended Amount of salt.
