I'm not sure the necrotic chunks add much. Between the short range and low damage output, I feel like I might forego using them just for the sake of keeping the moving more quickly. Scooping out some gruesome flesh and flinging it at the enemy seems like it might be a good candidate for some sort of stratagem? Every once in a while, a plague bearer finds he has a ripe puss tumor that's just begging to be plucked and thrown, at which point the snot sack pops and causes... something... to happen.
That's fair-I'll probably just remove that weapon entirely.
Compared to current Plaguebearers, my version is weaker offensively (
AP-1 instead of -2, no auto-wounds on a 6s to-hit) but has -1 Damage. Same points costs, except the Instrument and Icon cost points instead of free.
And then, a few upgrade choices to make them a little more versatile as a Troops choice.
Cheap, moderately durable objective holders.
Bit more expensive, but much killier troop.
And then the most expensive chunky boys.
I want to give them a niche as
the durable Daemons troop.
