I would change the type to Assault and/or pistol - probably pistol, and the S to 3 or D3 Blast.

Grenades can only be used by the one model per turn (unless this has changed) and Frag Grenades are S3 0 1.

Changing them to a 6" pistol gives them some shooting (especially for between fight rounds if they're pistols - which I assume is what you're going for here) and lets the whole squad participate, which probably should then downgrade the statline of the ranged attack.

My WHFB armies were Bretonians and Tomb Kings.

They're not a shooting unit-Grenade type is very much intentional.

What are your design goals?

If you're open to potentially changing the profile and not adamant on copying GW's latest stat creep blunder would you mind explaining to me why the profile is appropriate for Plague Bearers and rotten cleavers in your opinion?

Then I really don't know what you're going for here. 6" range and GRENADE really only gives you one "shot" and then only if you're already in charge range but haven't charged yet. Making it pistol would/could represent them grabbing a chuck of their flesh and throwing at people in the melee (especially for multi-round fights) but still not really make them a shooting unit due to the 6" range. The other thing that could have potential is instead of using the Frag Grenade as a guide going with the Primaris Apothecary Reductor Pistol for a potential high S/D low ROF option to meet things like Tanks and the like.

I'm out of the loop on daemons. Can you explain what your design goals are?

I'm not sure the necrotic chunks add much. Between the short range and low damage output, I feel like I might forego using them just for the sake of keeping the moving more quickly. Scooping out some gruesome flesh and flinging it at the enemy seems like it might be a good candidate for some sort of stratagem? Every once in a while, a plague bearer finds he has a ripe puss tumor that's just begging to be plucked and thrown, at which point the snot sack pops and causes... something... to happen.

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

That's fair-I'll probably just remove that weapon entirely.

Compared to current Plaguebearers, my version is weaker offensively (AP-1 instead of -2, no auto-wounds on a 6s to-hit) but has -1 Damage. Same points costs, except the Instrument and Icon cost points instead of free.
And then, a few upgrade choices to make them a little more versatile as a Troops choice.

Cheap, moderately durable objective holders.
Bit more expensive, but much killier troop.
And then the most expensive chunky boys.

I want to give them a niche as the durable Daemons troop.
