In general, airbrush paints are good for mixing with other mediums. I sometimes mix them with standard acrylic medium to create filters and glazes. Often, the airbrush paints are too thin to do this on their own, and don't adhere to other painted surfaces without some kind of binder.
If you want to play around with them, try painting a model in black and white and brushing the airbrush paint over the white parts to get a sense of coverage. Use a matte medium to make it thicker, if needed.
