"In 2022, the penal system is run by corporations, and prisoners are seen as assets."

We're nearly there!

So 1994 came and went, so did 2022, corporate prisons don't yet run the world or do they? Regardless of the morals here, this lessor known dystopia is good times for sure! with a surprisingly solid line up for the cast: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110678/

Indeed.

I also played a super fun RPG campaign in this basic setting.

Nice! What rules?

I didn't realize there were Sega & Nintendo video games based on it either.

Haven’t seen that in ages.

However, corporate prisons are very much a thing in the USA. And I suspect maybe other countries.

Yeah pops in my head now and then, and again after I posted on Dungeon Siege and remembered Ray Liotta starred in that too.

Shame he's gone.

It was a while ago, but I think it was based on the Shadowrun 2nd edition system.

A friend of mine got to watch filming for a few scenes for this movie (he was at school at the time, it was that long ago.).

The caves where they built the boats were down the road from where he lived.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

You know what’s weird…the gnostics would probably argue that’s what we’re already contained in. Makes you wonder really.

Elon Musk’s brainchip anyone? Lol

Anyway, I haven’t thought about this movie in years… maybe it’s time to revisit!

Probably more so a Google sim, he hasn't offered anyone the candy yet other than some pricey stuff I can't afford, Apple, Google, Microsoft got the goodies and we're all helping to train their AI, but yeah. We're about to enter yet another revolution for anyone who was around for the advent of the interwebz and the dotcom bust there after. Hang on tight lads and train up your skills so you're the one assisting the AI rather than being replaced by it.
