A while back, I asked if it was worth it to buy the first Arks of Omen just for the boarding patrol rules since it was such a small part of the book, and that the whole thing was probably going to be rendered moot after tenth edition. However, it seems like boarding patrol rules are going to stay the same into tenth. Taking this into consideration, do you think that it's now worth it to get the first Arks of Omen book after all? The flexibility of the list building is pretty attractive to me, as is the gameplay.

If you can find them. The AoO books are like hen's teeth an hour after they go on sale.

I wouldn't buy one myself, maybe ask someone around the store if you can read theirs and play a game with them sometime, it's not tonnes different from previous Matched Play mission sets.

Except for army construction, army deployment, how terrain interacts with auras, no WLTs, no Relics.

I wasn't even talking about that, but rather the main list building rules in Boarding Patrol that state things like units may never have more than 10 models, units with 10 models must be split into 2 units of 5 at Deployment, units that start at 3 models may never buy more than the starting 3 models, etc.

Fortunately you can get all the Abaddon book rules content from Whahapedia.
Books 2+ though? You're on your own.

A couple people in my group have a good few of the books, I think one has all the AoO books, and we have played a good few games and it is a lot of fun. Personally though I am waiting for 10th before I buy any of the BA rules in case they are either in the new rulebook or get updated fr the new edition.
