Trying to break into AoS 3.0 and have a mostly built FS army. How does this look for this season?

Looks like you have a solid list here. Just make sure those Hearthguard Zerkers stay wholly within 9" of a hero at all times and you shouldn't have any problems ripping opponents apart!

Though with number of ward ignoring abilities popping up or ways to stop commands those berserkers aren't as scary as they might appear at first. FS aren't doing particularly well or bad though floating around 50%. Think magmadroth spam is doing better though. Mobility in large part.

For GS do...not...take...defend. That's just bad. It's bad for most armies and for fyreslayers even worse. You just aren't mobile enough.

Both take what's theirs and day is ours work well enough if battletome ones aren't in use. If are then keep invocation on board is superior(and it's GS and battletactics like these which is why here often battletome ones are flat out banned) by far. If opponent doesn't have priest then it's basically automatic 3. And even if they have one then they struggle to stop it anyway if you can keep priest alive.

Thank you! I'll keep all that in mind. I would love to go for Droth spam but I only own two and for this Lodge it leans into unmounted heroes. Hopefully the big units and overall synergy help make the most of it. One thing I do have good for me on the mobility side of it is the Runesmiter to help me get a unit into a more advantageous position vs just slogging it. It's not a lot, but it's a cool trick.

Droth spam was better in previous seasons, the current one vastly favors greyfyrd foot hero spam; they are all GCs.

Thing is 2 GC is generally most you need. And new scenarios require even more mobility than past ones. The objectives are even more further away, there's dissapearing objectives, objectives that switch on and off. Simply sitting in one spot isn't going to work. So either you need to be in 3 places strong at once(hard as fast opponent can then focus on one group at a time) you need to be moving around a lot. More than in previous seasons.

Runesmiter DS is good but again that's only for one turn. Question then is how you move your troops 20" elsewhere...

Indeed--mobility is a weakness of Fyreslayer armies that must be tackled during gameplay.

Yeah, that is really just baked into the army. Not an easy way around that.

Though Greyfyrd favors unmounted heroes, would it be worthwhile to bring a heavy hitter on a Droth? To have at least one unit that can move somewhat quicker than the grunts?

Nah, better to spend those points on multiple grimwrath zerkers.

Which I don't own! When I purchase this army, I never ever thought they would be worth taking. Go fig!

People usually convert them. Easy enough to glue a bigger axe & mohawk to a hearthguard XD
