Ok update on my ship, Taking forever !
http://s21.photobucket.com/albums/b297/silverlegion66/?action=view¤t=Ship6.jpg
But I have to say it looks cool I've done the two main decks the majority of the masts, I just need wool for the sails.
This may sound easy, however my world has suddenly become rather sheep-less. So the sails will have to come another day.

Geeze, you people are ambitious. I need to undergo my own mega project. But what to make, hrm...
I think I'm gonna make concrete bunker (stone rather than cobblestone) complete with pilboxes (cannons) and trenches with wooden plank floors and walls.

Charcoal works in place of coal but it's a resource of last resort. You have to burn up a lot of wood to get it. It's something to use in an emergency only.
I demolished that little gatehouse at the end of my drawbridge. It just looked ridiculous.

Yeah, I only use charcoal if I don't find any coal. I really dislike the idea of burning up four wooden planks (the equivalent of one log) without gaining much in return.

im really eager to find some iron so i can start making buckets.
i had this crazy idea of making a lighthouse using lava so i can see my base from far aways.
is it difficult to harvest lava with a bucket?
will i drain my lava pool if i collect too much?
im thinking of making glass and lava markers so i can explore more and find my way back.

Make a gate to the Nether and you will, practically speaking, never run out of lava.
As long as you don't get IN the lava, harvesting lava is no harder than harvesting water. Automatically Appended Next Post: Damnit, the neighbors downstairs won't shut up. I'm gonna have to go down and get medieval on their arses.
Translation: I apparently chose a base directly above zombie infested cave, possibly a dungeon (hopefully a dungeon anyway).

You can drain a lava pool if you pull too much. You can't make an infinite lava pool the way you can with water. Just like water you can only collect still lava, not flowing so you need to find a pool.

I just gained a bucket, an iron ingot, six redstone dust, a bread, two saddles (ugh...), and four string (which despite already having a bow and fishing rod is STILL more useful than the saddles).
And, of course, two free chests (yay for saving me sixteen wood blocks).

I really enjoy having monsters on though, otherwise, it just feels a bit...less exciting I suppose. The whole "I have to find another shelter on this massive island before Nightfall" is reallly fun. I found a small cave overlooking the sea in a cliff face. So I skillfully (I so did not jump past it 6 times) leapt onto the ledge, and set up camp there. It even had coal at the back of the cave. I was so prepared, and I even managed to have an uneventful night!

Yeah, I like the concept of a dungeon but the reward hardly seems worth it. I'm more interested in getting mossy cobble stone out of it than anything.

... aaaand the first dungeon was connected to a second dungeon, this time the worst kind (skeleton dungeons, which I hate even more than creeper dungeons which at least give me lots of sulphur if I do it right).
Least I think it's a skellie dungeon. There's only one kind of fire which doesn't give off light, and that's the monster spawner. And there were tons of skeletons in the cave, so I had to block it off and build a door so I could deal with it later. Automatically Appended Next Post: BAH! That's so unfair. The skellie dungeon didn't even have a single chest in it. The mossy cobblestone is kinda worth it, but meh...

I really dislike the idea of burning up four wooden planks (the equivalent of one log) without gaining much in return. Again, this is a pretty pointless concern, considering 1 tree will drop somewhere between 3 and 6 saplings, each of which turns into a tree within a couple days (much faster if the player adds bonemeal)

And yet, for every charcoal created, that's still four blocks of wooden planks wasted. Wooden planks that I think are one of the most aesthetically pleasing building materials in the game.
Once I actually start digging, I've never been wanting for coal.

Mattieu~~~~ It's not that eldar are bad, it's that they require a lot of intergration between units. Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.

That's 20 planks per tree, and 200 planks per farm. Sorry, but I don't see the problem. Unless you're building a megastructure in which case you have survival mode off (unless you're bats*** crazy), but many people building a megastructure use InvEdit anyway, as a means of saving time that could be spent getting a framework up. As for availability of coal, that's entirely up to personal experience. Your world is clearly better resource endowed than my own, as I struggle to find much of anything in mine, and have had entire caves devoid of resources.

Then again the info I found is from here so not sure how accurate it is. At least it has the sources down the bottom of the page to read through.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

A couple of pictures of the rollercoaster, finally.
Drops from the top into the Creeper face then continues underground for a bit.
Tree project.
The base with the trap I've been working on currently. The plan is to use the central room as a hub to other rooms. The most annoying part is getting there as there is a hidden underground tunnel to get into the base in the first place, then after climbing ladders for a bit you need a boat to use the elevator to actually get into the base.
WIP pics of it.
Yes I used TNT for digging. There was a mountain in the way.
While I was building it I decided I didn't really care if it gave lots of drops or not.
My moon also seems fitting after all the TNT I used for it.
