It's a sad harsh truth that the cup won't be coming back north anytime in the near future since there's no money to be made through ratings & broadcasting contracts.
What's even worse, I fully expect the team to finally bring the cup back home to where it belongs will be, horror of horrors, the Make-ya-Laughs! (how embarrassing...

)
And of course, they'll wait until it's the 100th anniversary since the Loafs have won the thing, just to ensure they can have a new record to one-up the Red Sox and their what, 80+ years between championships?!
That would not be a new record.
The Chicago Cubs have not won a championship since 1908. They are currently on a 104 year dry spell and they do not look good this year so they will make it at least 105 years since they had a championship team. This is the longest record in sports and I see no end in sight.
I guess it is a good thing that I am a White Sox fan, they won in 2005
That said, the Blackhawks had a selling off, but Emery I knew would go. The Blackhawks got Nikolai Khabibulin back as a backup goaltender, so that should be fine if Crawford has an injury.
I am looking forward to the next hockey season, but I am sad that Detroit had to move out of the division, that was a great rivalry and beating the Redwings on a regular basis will be missed.
