How is it compared to the new Bloodhirster daemon model? If he is close then you could use him as a GUO, as they are bound to release a new model sooner or later. Either way I am sure it will look great.

He's 14 cm high if I remember correctly. That makes him just a bit too large for demon princes & old BT and a lot smaller than knights or the new BT. I think it would make a good GUO but it's about 2x the height & 3 or 4x the mass of the current one and might not even fit on a 60mm base. It's much more massive looking than the contemptor which serves as my current GUO. I'll give you a size comparison shot tonight once I get home.

Oh man Gits, I didn't suggest the Reaper Bones Cthulhu because as an overall model I really don't like it =/. Sorry if I led you astray, but man I hope you stay away from that one! I could see stealing its head, but the body of it is just not to my liking.

Could you mount the Scibor one up on some rocks to increase the height a bit? I'm surprised it isn't big enough, from the measurement pics it seemed massive but maybe I don't have my scale right. Maybe snap a pic with the intended base to get the Dakka creative juices flowing?

Meh, it's not great... but it's not horrible either. I don't really like the pot-belly... but it's a much more useable size. I also don't think this paint job is particlarly flattering.

I think if you put worms on his belly would look great Git. I like his pot belly. I actually like the paint job.

You are too hard on yourself. It's a great start to another great model.

That's not mine Anpu, but I appreciate the compliment. That's the picture from the Reaper website.

Here's the size comparison. He's got some vestigal wings that'll stick up a bit on his back, but it's not enough to make him believable as some kind of knight variant.

I think it will look fine as a great unclean one Gitz. Definitely has the look of pustules and strange growths!

Yeah, I think it could pass a Nurgle type. It's a really nice model, I especially like the head

Yeah, love the model. Considering it only has 4 odd parts it'll take a bit of work to get everything pinned and fitted. The joints aren't the cleanest so they'll all have to be GSed & textured. Really looking forward to painting it though.

My "pink horrors" came in! (the jack-o-lantern headed scarecrows). Might have to sneak these in quickly as they look fairly simple to paint and the PHs are useful. I'm going to guess these are a little on the small side when compared to GW's pink horrors... but if I put a layer of cork on the bases before I mount them they should be fine.

Time to get rolling on the next project!

I was hoping to knock off a couple of easy figures... creature from the black lagoon & the original Lon Cheney Jr. werewolf. Unfortunately, Lon has gone walk-a-bout. So, I'll knock out the creature & if Lon is still on vacay I'll dive into those scarecrows/pink horrors.

Expect an update very soon!

Finished the Creature from the Black Lagoon (Herald of Khorne).

And here's the next project... evil scarecrows (pink horrors). Not the best castings (lots of flash and mold lines) but certainly workable. I added the stems on top of the heads. Should start (and perhaps finish) these tomorrow.

Or maybe THIS will be the next project... only time will tell.

Creature is great, pretty much how I figured it looking. The fins on the back look almost translucent, very nice effect and the slimy skin gives it that I just crawled out the lagoon look.

Creature looks fantastic! You really captured his slimy greenness.

Really like the scarecrows... You could have fooled me about cast issues. From here they look great! Cant wait to see them painted... Going to do them all alike or different sorts of patterns?

Thanks Ramos. They cleaned up fine, just took more work than most "modern" models would take.

I'm really pressed for time and as such, may make some things (like skin, heads and pants) all the same. I'll try to do the shirts differently though so there's at least some variation in the squad.

The creature from the black lagoon looks amazing. The use of green is perfect.

How many different scarecrows are there? Looking at the squad pic, they seem very same-y. Of course, metal models are like that, even with different sculpts sometimes you have things like the legs being duplicated.

Love the creature. It might just be my fuzzy memory of classic posters, but it seems like he should be carrying a damsel. Actually that might make for fun objective counters. Get some fainted/screaming/running ladies. Monster goals=capture, Hero's (your opponent) goal=rescue.

Bonus points if you can find them dressed in classic 50-60s outfits.

They are still rehearsing the dance number so its a WIP.

CftBL looks goo(d), seconded on the slimey-ness , looks very much the movie monster.

I really like the creature . I would suggest sticking to a bit of a "color code" for the counts-as, though - which would make him nurgle

Personally hoping for the Scibor Cthulhu to be next!

Making good progress but slower than I'd hoped. No pics as right now they look like a group of 1970 disco dancers. That will hopefully change with the next round of painting.

Well, I color-coded them just for you as well. Don't want you to be confused about what faction they belong to just because they're the wrong color. So the combination of the bell bottoms, the color choices that have yet to be dirtied up and the poses of the figures... it's just too good an association. When I showed my progress to my wife, I told her to think about the song "Stayin' Alive" by the BeeGees, then after a few seconds showed her the figures. She burst out laughing! I should have them done in a night or two. All I need to finish up are the heads, weathering and the bases.

I have a major tournament coming up on the 30th, so I hope to have these, Cthulhu (GUO version) & the blood thirster done by then. That should fill in some gaps that have become obvious and/or tighten up the theme of the list.

Hey gang, I am making progress... albeit slow. Motivation has been flagging a bit, but I am doing a little bit every night so at least I've exercised a modicum of discipline. Finally getting the pumpkin heads started. Really makes a difference to the overall look of the figures. Don't think I'll have any painting time tonight, but I fully expect to finish them up tomorrow. Then it's on the Cthulhu, which should be a very fast airbrushing project. Hope to get that finished up my Monday.
