I have a slow growing human army for kings of war with mostly Empire, dogs of war and Kislev minis from the 90s. You can follow my slow progress and check out my older units on my blog: https://mandollies.com/2024/05/03/empire-reinforcements/

The high level backstory is that this is an army raised by Tzarina Katarin. She has seen visions of the end times, and knows that they only chance to stop it from happening is by stopping Archaon from gathering the chaos tribes in an unstoppable horde. By acting now, the forces of order has a chance to create an alternate timeline, where the end times never happen.

So she launches a northern crusade, planning to venture into the chaos wastes to stop the rise of Archaon before the end times happen. Karl Franz of course does not feel comfortable with sending everything based on visions, but the 2nd Imperial army, stationed in the east, is mobilized to join the crusade. Mercenaries and dwarf allies make up the rest of the force.

The crusade army already has a sizeable Kislev contingent, which will grow more, and is supported by other themed armies.

Planned forces:
Kislev Rota of Tzarina Katarin - the main force, lots of winged lancers, gryphon legion, ungol horse archers, kossars and other Kislev units
2nd Imperial army - Fairly standard empire army with an Ostermark theme, but also including units from other states and knightly orders
1st Imperial Panzer-Engineer regiment - Small mobile sub-army with heavy armour and a lots of tech. War wagons, steam tanks, birdmen and outriders
The people's crusade - Small sub-army of fanatics, warriors priests and other oddball religious folks
Cult of Ulric - Small sub-army of teutogen guard, white wolves, priests of ulric and any other wolf themed units
The Golden army - Tilean mercenary army with heavy golden armour. Republican guard, besiegers and venators
Myrmidian cult - Small greek themed sub-army. Blazing suns, Greek style constructs, priestesses of myrmidia
Dwarf allies - An army of dwarves from the strongholds in the Kislev worlds edge mountains
Dogs of war - Various other merc units, cursed company, grudgebringers and any other oddball units.

Beautiful work bringing these old minis to life mate. I remember drooling over the Cursed Company models in a WD as a kid. Bring on the birdmen!

From Bretonnia comes the Lady Melissé, a powerful Bretonnian damsel from Mousillon. Some say that Mousillon is a vile place, dominated by the undead, but how can that be true when such beauty and grace comes from there?
There are some rumours around the camp about the Lady’s nightly activities, but many are the noble men ready to defend the Lady’s honour against such slander.

Man - yellow and black is such a challenge to get good - love how you've layered the yellow and orange together.

As far as hiring her goes, any ally is a good ally?

With such a subtle disguise, how could anyone suspect her?

Even vampires, errr... damsels have reason to stop the end times, and they can certainly make for powerful allies.

For some reason, the Mousillon noble houses have really leaned into the darker themes in their heraldry. But you can clearly see that they venerate the holy grail on the back one

A sudden burst of inspiration spawned another mini-army, the templar order "Brethren of Taal"
