Hey there, I'm creating a custom space marine chapter so I can play any faction, and would like to create a thunderwolf cavalry proxy that is not on wolves. With the lore of my chapter (precursor to the Dark Angels), trying to find some other possible Caliban warp-ish animal as mounts. I've been looking on Etsy and some other places - found bears and lizards and a few others, but just wondering if anyone has done something similar and has any suggestions. I tried Lumineth Wind Chargers, but the scale was not quite right for Primaris marines.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I saw someone treat them more as a hunting pair with a Primaris marine fighting alongside a Fenrisian on the same base.

If your willing to use AoS minis then the Dracoths (with Tempestors) or the Gryph-chargers (with Vanguard-Palladors) could work well.

If you look on Cults.com (3D printing site) look for Custodes. In there you will find a Cyber-Lion mount. If printed at 95% scale it would be about right for Primaris scale heroes. Other wise I do recommend the Stormcast mounts previously mentioned.

The Gryph-chargers would make excellent Howling Griffon "Thunderwolves".

Thanks for all the suggestions gents - I had looked at the Vanguard-Palladors and the Dracothian Tempestors previously but since I'm of course not the first person to think of this, saw a post with them compared to thunderwolf cavalry and they were huge in comparison, so even if I put them on 60mm bases would that work in game, or be seen as an unfair advantage? They are beautiful models though - man. That is kinda what I am going for - idea being the Caliban knights cleared the planet of warp monsters, but tamed some for mounts before the end. Plus, it would get me to paint non-space marine stuff which would be nice, LOL. I don't have a 3D printer unfortunately, but the cults3d lions did look cool.

Here's the pic I mentioned, what'd you think? Tempestors don't look too far off, but the Palladors are far cooler I think....
