Tapping the Glass at the Herpetarium

I'm working on building an army based around the webway battle from the Horus Heresy novel: "Master of Mankind" by Aaron Dembski-Bowden.

In it it features the redemption seeking Imperial Knight house: House Vyridion.

I'm having issues finding an appropriate silhouette to use for the coat of arms, which is a rearing Pegasus on a field of flamboyant laurel-green and black.

My second issue is what color "flamboyant laurel-green" is.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The problem you have is that book seems to be the only source for info there is.
I had a similar headache when i was painting House Col'khak and i guessed wrong.

I get the feel with house vyridion that the type of green was more about the effect used rather than the tone.
Like a mottled green thats slightly yellowed in its lighter patches like an aged parchment.
House vyronii uses emerald green so avoid that.

For the pegasus, use the ferrari prancing horse and add wings!
I'm sure the tifosi wont mind.

The internet suggests this for Laurel Green

Regarding the Pegasus, that is the symbol of UK paratroopers, so you should be able to find plenty of relevant transfers out there from historic kits.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Google pegasus 'stencil, to get some good designs

As for the heraldry, sounds awesome, looking forward to see a pic when you've finished painting it.

Thank you for your help.

A lot of the House Vyridion models I can find online typically use a Custodes color scheme or ignore the heraldry altogether.

The good news is that in the novel, the Knight Castigator "Aquila from the Ashes" has its heraldry painted by the pilot himself before the battle as there were no Sacristans to assist him, so I don't have to be too detailed in my design.

One last bit though, any idea of a decent paint to use for the laurel-green color? I'm not seeing anything close in the citadel range, maybe another company has something.

(My current paint skills are not quite up to snuff to mix paints with any consistency to do 3 knights)

Thank you for the help, I went out and bought a laurel-green green sweatshirt from Walmart today and ordered both of those paints. Thank you for the help.

Now all I need to do is figure out where on the Castigator to put the heraldry. There's no shield like the questoris models.

Cerastus Castigator models have two demi-pauldrons on the front side of their pauldrons which are slightly taller than the sheild on a Questoris chassis and equally as wide - you'll be fine!
