I am working on a Knight Castigator and some other stompies for 30k and I think the base should be littered with spent shell casings.

My issue is I can't find anything in the right scale. Any advice? I will buy them, make them, or if worse comes to worse, just imagine them on the bases.

What size of shell? Small arms or cannon scale?

If you know someone with a resin printer then making an empty casing model is the work of whole minutes, and you can get basically an infinite number. Otherwise there are a few vendors like Zinge Industries.

Failing that, if you just roll out green stuff over a flattened-off stick of the right diameter you should be able to make some quite easily.

Or even buy a length of plastic tube, cut to length and add a bit of GS on the end to close it off. This might be to a best way to get consistent looking large calibre shell casing.

Oh, sorry I wasn't specific.

I meant the Castigator Bolt Cannon, it looks like those twin gatling style guns would toss out shells like rain.... in a monsoon.

I've seen guys who sell Marine sized bolter shells, but wasn't sure if they'd look right on the base.

I'm sure I'm overthinking this.

On the Castigator the barrels on the Castigator Bolt Cannon are 1.85mm ID and the rounds you can see on the ammo bin are 1.5mm OD.
Your choice!

I would do the same as Flintys plastic tube idea.
If you want the casings to have an extraction rim you could get a belt-punch
