With Thanksgiving really late this year, it looks like stores didn't bother delaying the shopping and divorced the sales from the actual day.

I just got back from the grocery store with some X-mas candy... on November 3rd.

Which I mention to illustrate that we seem to have entered an era where the calendar is just totally divorced from sales. Anywhere between October 1st and December there'll be sales, pre-Black Friday, post-Black Fridays, etc.

Where i volunteer we had to have the Christmas cards out in August (insane), we sold the first box last week (end of October) so over 2 1/2 months of them pointlessly taking up space just in case some other charity got theirs out first

Honestly that page annoys me. I get it, but at the same time 54 days is way too long to keep people interested; and you have to click on each ad (window) to open them to see what's behind them and I'm sure after a few more days that going to get really tedious

Heroforge has a 10th Anniversary sale going on until 30 Nov 2024. Up to 20% off on physical miniatures and up to 50% off digital miniatures. Quality is poor though, but if you want a specific type of figure that has little or no commercial appeal, then this gives you the option to create it.

Okay, that's actually worse, since food spoils. Something like a sweater can be bought and hoarded until Christmas without harm. {I've often done my Xmas shopping at Labor Day sales and just hidden the gifts away for later. Then I get obnoxiously smug during the seasonal shopping rush.}

I like Heroforge, I mean yeah, guaranteed there is an STL out there ten times better than the one I made with HF's toolbox, but the point is, 'I' made it. Me. I decided what tilt his head should have, which sword he's swinging and which set of eyebrows he has.
