Sony's Spider-Verse Future After Kraven Revealed As Studio Pivots Into "The Next Spider-Man Film" & More Popular Sub-Franchises - Screen Rant
Sony's Spider-Man Universe seems to be on its way out after Kraven the Hunter. The Sony Marvel franchise started with a bang back in 2018, as Tom Hardy's Venom finished its worldwide box office run with $856 million. However, Morbius and Madame Web turned out to be major disappointments for the studio, with critics and the audience alike not enjoying the films. After Venom: The Last Dance put an end to the only successful franchise among the SSU's movies, Kraven the Hunter will be the final piece in this chapter, and a new focus has been established.
According to a new report from The Wrap, Sony has no plans for new Spider-Man movie spinoffs in the SSU after Kraven the Hunter. The studio now shifts its focus to Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4, the animated Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, and Nicolas Cage's live-action Spider-Noir series. The Wrap mentions a top talent agent as saying that Sony has "developed what they want to develop for now" with the SSU. A Sony insider also commented on the franchise's status in the report. Speaking about a lack of quality control, they said, "The movies just aren’t good." Future Spider-Man movies and series are the plan moving forward.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

At least we still have a bunch of Amazon.com joy, since they leased the catalog of every spider thing from Sony.

Years?
Hahahhahahahhaahah! Bless you. We’ll be lucky if it’s 12-15 months!
Of course, the trouble for Sony is that Spidey’s rogues gallery are counters for…..Spider-man.
Whilst I have largely enjoyed the Venom movies I’ve seen? Without Peter Parker, Venom’s look makes little sense, and much of the symbiote’s motivations fall away.
Anti-heroes like Morbius a) need someone other than a vastly overrated egotist in the lead role and b) a super powered friend to act as a foil, someone who challenges them to not just become a monster.
Madame Web makes no sense without the Wall Crawler.

If Sony really wants a hit, they need to go "all-in" and make Spider-Man free, Spider-man: Turn Off the Dark complete with singing and dancing. Just a straight filming of the stage show, with a big blurred out blob over Spider-man.
That will sell like hot cakes!
