So- yeah, Prime Absolvers. I was looking at the wiki's "chapters by picture" and this stood out:

Not a lot on there, Dark Angel successor, hush hush- icon is supposed to be a "Breaking Wheel" of torture.. but me and every other Imperial citizen who knows about Chaos is going to see something else. It just beguiles me to think this chapter runs around and doesn't get constantly attacked by (fill in zealous chapter here). I mean- change it to a 6 spoked wheel, or put a person on it... which, that last one may hurt more than help.
Anyways- anyone find any more or know anything? Thoughts?

how big a group do you think "every other imperial citizen who knows about Chaos" is? and of those people, who is going to advertise the fact they know the heraldry of the Great Enemy?

To be fair, the super duper apocalypse background of the Great Rift opening was that every world had suffered Chaos incursions and so knowledge of Chaos was now widespread (...and then GW just did... nothing... with that development. Surprise!)

Still, the inhabitants of the Imperium aren't (shouldn't be) idiots, so they ought to be able to tell an eight pointed Chaos star from a twelve pointed eight spoked wheel.

When a traitor force is called "The Emperor's Children", and the "loyal" force is called "The Flesh Eaters", I don't know if it's really all that far fetched.

That star has 12 points not 8, so I don't see the problem!

8 spokes but 12 points, its about as close to a chaos star as an aquila is to a reichsadler.

I say we report this to the Inquisition and set the Space Wolves on them.

Its the only way to be sure.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

It's much funnier if they aren't doing anything suspicious at all. I always get a kick out of successors to messed-up chapters trying to be normal but dealing with the dumbest stuff possible.
