So Death Guard has their pox walkers, Thousand sons have tzaangors and the World Eaters have jackals. And then the chaos space marine codex has your basic cultists. I kinda like the idea of each faction having their own slightly different cheap units that fit within the play style of each codex. So I'm curious what people would want to see as a cannon fodder unit for the Emperor's children. We'll if GW revelas more, but in the meantime would can imagine what that might look like for EC.

Call them 'revelers' and make them a bunch drugged up pub crawlers stumbling across the battlefield. Give them some extra movement since that seems to be the stat bonus Slaanesh units have gotten in the past. Maybe automatic 6's on the advance?

EDIT: Whoops! Got Emperor's Children and Thousand Sons confused.

Unless they have something specific in mind, they'll probably just use the current generic cultists. Heck, the Thousand Sons use generic cultists alongside the Tzaangors...

They may not even get cultists if GW think Daemonettes perform a similar enough function. The fact there aren't any in the army box or combat patrol suggests EC might not get a specific cultist unit.

I know, and it's so boring. I'd love to see TS get sorcerous cultists. Basically just chaos cultist with a single psychic ability. Something like smite.

Yep. Especially with the way the two marine units were described as well- one unit has scouts, the other has infiltrate. There isn't much of a role left over.

Similarly, I wouldn't be surprised if the generic cultists vanish out of DG and TS, since the lesser daemons and poxwalkers/tzaangors are more 'god dedicated' light infantry.

Going back to EC, it also might touch on the army's theme as well. The commentators touched on the idea of the legion's pride and contempt several times, the writers may have decided that mixing in mortal units was beneath them.
My real worry is what EC get to use for heavy firepower. They did list things that will be in the codex, but nothing beyond the Land Raider carries heavy weaponry.
I hope there is a sonic dread or daemon engine that they just haven't shown off yet, but suspect they put everything out there.

I don't think the list they gave in the reveal was exhaustive. I'd be very surprised if they don't get Predators, at the very least. We also don't know what the Noise Marine weapons will be like. They may make them similar to Obliterators with a lot of different modes to make them decent against a range of targets. That seems more likely if there really isn't any other heavy support in the Codex.

I'm willing to bet they'll get the Predator too. All the other Chaos factions do. Also the Defiler.

I hope EC get the Vindicator too. I modelled a daemon possessed one years ago, with amongst other things a nice big sphincter on the back to accept the shells from the little loading arm. Now I can't use it for my World Eaters, and it seems, well, suitable for EC...

Death Guard can't take Vindicators either, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

It's entirely possible that vanilla Chaos will lose them too, when the next purge of Loyalist fistborn hits.

Yeah, that's my expectation. Ah well. Fingers crossed for pervy gimp-cultists at least!

Death Guard have several unique vehicles, so they don't need Vindicators. After all, the Thousand Sons still have them.

It makes me wonder if they scrap the old tanks for loyalist and just makew new, purely chaos vindicators and rhinos.

Unlikely. Rhinos are still used in Sisters as well. I can see them just removing the various Rhino chassis vehicles from SM, just to force players of the most popular army to buy new tanks, but I don't think the Rhino model is going anywhere any time soon.

That said, I wouldn't mind a new Chaos upgrade sprue for vehicles. The current one is showing its age now.

I'd rather get brand-new Chaos vehicles, or at least new sculpts.

Hiding from Florida-Man.

I always thought that Chaos vehicles should look really warped and very weird... like Obliterators melded into vehilces.

I've never understood why a Rhino sitting in the Eye of Terror for 10,000 years looks like a regular Rhino with a spike rack and a different paint scheme.

Because it's owner is too lazy/un-skilled to mod it.

During the video at the Las Vegas showing they mentioned that regular chaos vehicles seem to be in place such as Defilers, heldrakes, maulerfiends, etc. I have many armor models that I've painted for my Emperors Children so I felt a bit of relief when they said that. However, I can imagine that not all vehicles will make it, I just hope its none of mine.

Me as well. I was mentally preparing myself that my army was going to become Chaos Space Marines with the option of EC Noise Marine allies. I've got multiple vehicles that I was unsure would be included in the new codex.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Thematically EC are very keen on keeping slaves that they have trained to adore them. So a horde of slave cultists would be on point.

But the hosts do also seem to handout with lesser demons a lot so I think that’s what we will get for the first ec codex. As long as there is a way to get demonettes forward quickly
