what does rapid fire 6 mean for the hurricane bolter on the storm raven??

You get X extra number of shots if in half range. 6 in this case.

What Nevelon said. And not to be the guy who goes, "Just read the rules," but you'll find info on Rapid Fire and other weapon rules in the main rulebook which is free to download via the warhammer community site.

Often a bad time for whatever infantry unit my Storm Raven targets.

Especially in Crusades once I start applying weapons upgrades.

One nice thing about SRs - they chunk out a TON of shots. So if you have something that modifies them, it gets put to work.

Ever since the Storm Raven came out I thought they'd make a Rhino variant with Storm Bolters, as the SR pieces fit perfectly into the Rhino door slots. It would make a cool command tank if you had a radar dish up top or something.

That likely requires a new kit - I'm surprised they didn't release sponson kits as addons to existing tanks - two Sponsons that can make hurricane bolters. Two sponsons that can make Las/Heavy Bolters, etc.

This is called the Rhino Primaris. Doesn't have the hurricane bolters though but would be real nice with them.
