So I love terminators. Always have. Some of my favourite artwork is from all the way back in the day of a terminator with assault cannon just falling over and giving something out of shot a major dose of high velocity inconvenience.

I lucked out and got the Crux set. I have been "encouraging" (i.e. spoiling) my son in a major Terminator heavy force. I currently have a problem with snapping up Leviathan monopose sets off E-bay. Must be pushing 50 so far...

Basically I now have way too many of the little buggers for a reasonable force, so keen to see what others have been doing with them.

I have done a bit of light kit bashing to give the CC sergeants fancy capes (from the Leviathan Captain):
Spoiler:

Using the monopose boys to hoover up the spare CC weapons is easy enough

Spoiler:

Most fun so far is using the rest of the Captain model to bash in with the cyclone from the Crux set. My son requested Necrons as adversary in this case Its interesting, as the Captain is a southpaw, and therefore I needed to flip around the designator.
Spoiler:

What other depths have been getting plumbed recently?

I have a wild idea to up the dynamics an get some leaping and shenanegans in, like my old Jim Raynor model:
Spoiler:

And then there are deep and disturbing desires, like getting one to do a Neo, or be armed with a multilaser

I need to get a box of the new assaults.

I built the leviathan and reg terminators pretty standard. I did convert the Lev captain into a chaplain.

Weapon swap, head swap, arm reposition.

Primaris techmarine.

I’m not saying all my un-helmeted chaplains are missing half their skulls, but wear your helmets out there!

(I think one actually has an intact noggin, so it’s only 75% visible bionic skulls)

While I don't think I've really done anything wild with Terminators, I have made this conversion when Codex Daemonhunters was all the rage:

Not a Marine but an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor for whom I used Malleus and psycannon rules, because we were already on the downward slide where not every Inquisitor could get common Imperial wargear.

It's a good time to post him as well. He's my Christmas Inquisitor, who only came out to play for the end of year mega battle at my local store.

Made of a 2nd ed Rune Priest, Deathwing shoulder pads, Necron Destroyer parts left over from my Destroyer Lord, and a bit or two from who even knows where.

A red nose would really tie it into the Christmas theme, but it looks great

Thank you. The model was actually planned as a perfectly straight Xenos Inquisitor. It's just that the wintry white and green, the Christmas tree topper and the timing of his deployment ended up giving him the Christmas Inquisitor moniker.

Suits me fine, really. I rarely do joke models and prefer to keep my humor in-universe.

Oh, and a small correction. Of course he has Deathwatch shoulder pads, not Deathwing ones.

Trying out a bi-colour scheme based on airbrush highlighting. Really happy with it so far. The stone colour is a bit lighter than I meant, and the top line is slightly wonky, but not bad for a trial.

Also trying out a bit of OSL from below to try out some glowy basing.

OSL from below is so good.
Can't wait to see the finished piece.

Sometimes my osl attempts get lost and are not even noticeable in the final, and I wonder if that step was waste of time.

Nice start on the armor halves. I like the way the OSL base looks. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished thing.
