I've been hunting for a mini agnostic skirmish/war game for a while now, one where we can hopefully use his absurd amount of various monstrous beasts in.

We are battletech and 40k players (although the former much more), and I am looking for something with decent tactical depth (it doesn't have to be classic btech!), but nothing too crazy. I just purchased Xenos Rampant to try that, and it seems fine, but I can't say the generic attacks are really grabbing me (roll 10 dice for all attacks!). I would much prefer something that has discrete units and weapons that I can flavor myself... maybe?

We have also played a lot of Frostgrave and Stargrave, but those don't really have the mechanics to put together the battles we want to do. For example:

Our game of Xenos Rampant involved
3 armored core/gundams
1 megablox warthog
4 spartans
1 Eldar Wraithknight

He has dragons and other creatures out the wazoo I'd love to fight/use for my own forces.

So any suggestions on a game system we could use for our madness? Thanks!

Dropzone Commander Operation Artemis is explicitly mechs vs megafauna. It’s natively 10mm, it I’m sure that’s easy enough to work around.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
