Titus is no Mary-Sue. Not incompetent by any stretch, but we see him make some rash decisions which cost his forces badly. We also see Marines running out of ammo. Imagine that!

Particularly cool is how whenever a Shard of the Nightbringer is on the field? The various Imperial forces just have nothing in response.

Doom Eagles may be gearing up for mass recruitment. It’s not clear if this is to absorb and replace fallen Brothers. But there is mention of completion of second Medicae facility which has increased their recruitment 10 fold.

There’s at least once Inquisitor hell-bent on exposing Guilliman. A related missive is signed only as “K”. Not sure if we’re meant to know who that is. But, they’re apparently a member of the Ordo Astartes.

Overall, the 500 Worlds campaign is a mini-Great Crusade. As a planet is brought into the fold, it adds its armed forces to those of the whole. Some are beaten into submission, some come entirely willingly, others are persuaded through negotiation. Particularly fun snippet details one effort, mentions being well stocked with Rejuvenaut treatments, and so will convert “their children’s children” if needs be.
