Recently got the Altair Colony kickstarter files and I’m cranking a bunch out. The basis of the system is a satisfying polygonal frame, and you print a range of external wall elements that can be clipped on or magnetised. The files are well designed, and print flat off the build plate. With ironing activated, the final finish of the wall sections is excellent. I’m doing a bit of filling and smoothing in the main frames, but I can’t be bothered too much for the walls at this point. We shall see if this position changes, as it would take a heck of a lot of spray filler to do them all!

I have 2 being processed just now, and a third on the build plate that should finish tomorrow. Aiming for 5 frames and associated walls and roof platforms to build a 2 storey example to begin with, and will work from there.

The files are available through MMF in case anyone is interested. The vendor has indicated they want to do a series of kickstarters to expand the range with new styles, interior detailing and damaged modules.
