Amusingly enough, Wooden swords supposedly take Enchantments better than Diamond ones do.

And I've yet to see any of the Bow enchantments. Are they any good?

maybe, but they break faster, and with all the lag I'm getting it's imposibble to kill any mobs

Well I got a damage 3 one which essentially doubles the damage output. The normal being 4.5 hearts with a slight chance to do 5.

Then there's the one that lets you keep shooting as long as you have at least one arrow left. Really useful as you only need to take one arrow with you anywhere with it.

there's also one that set's those hit by the arrow on fire

Just wondering if anyone has actually managed to pick up some mycelium yet? I'd be willing to trade for it if anyone has any spare as this grinding for silk touch is rather dull.

Why thank you... but I think you need to visit more projects. The sign is currently just a big monolithic rectangle, not much skill involved, just time and resources (maybe after the lettering is done it might be worthy of praise). There are plenty of far more interesting looking projects on the server, size isn't everything. :-P

Can you use bukkit offline too?

If you mean for a multiplayer lan-only (no internet) server, then yeah of course.

If you mean for a singleplayer game, to keep the Bukkit mods, then you can do that too (just point your client at localhost)

But I think you are the one who doesn't have a paid copy of minecraft right? You can just put online-mode=false in the server.properties file and then supposedly any client can connect (paid or not), just keep your firewall closed to prevent internet access. I have not tested this myself, try it at your own risk of course.

so i'm having issues with my megafarm Single player beta

it stalls out, meaning I get a huge flow of mobs, and then suddenly they stop spawning for no reason i can figure out.
they dont seem to have spawned in caves or anything because I have them disabled

ideas?

As in they vanish completely so that there are no mobs at all and not just it reaching a limit?

as far as i can tell, they just stop spawning, i got x ray vision and still can't see any
they do die /VERY? fast upon spawning though so i figured i may be breaking something

Gold tools are the most enchantable IIRC, followed by wood then iron then diamond then stone.

The optimal enchanting layout is as below with B as two high bookcases, E as empty spaces and T as the enchanting table. You can have a two by one gap in the bookcases to work as a door without impacting effectiveness.

Something that may be enlightening is that Silk Touch is not something only found on really high level enchantments. Through use of a mod that describes what enchantments will show up, its' been seen that Silk Touch can be found on enchantments as low as level 16.

Yeah, the optimal method for getting silk touch is using a gold pick using that bookcase format and 22 exp levels.

Albeit Fortress of Gamers is giving free MC accounts away....

I grabbed my stuff before the crash-- about twenty seconds before. If my stuff is permanently gone, I'm gonna have to come up with a list of replacements and sadly some of the stuff cannot be replaced so easily, like the enchanted stuff.

Ah well, those are the dangers of the nether.

Minecraft is the game that I have put the most hours into simply because of it's sense of accomplishment.

Though after multiplayer it is kind of hard to go back to sinlgeplayer for anything other than testing out designs.

Heh, I've never played single-player. I only play custom maps on the rare occasion when I can't connect to servers.

I have a single player game I occasionally get back to, though I admit it's sometimes more fun to start over. I recently hollowed out a mountain in it, to the point where tehre was little more than a ~10x10x57 hollow pillar with a staircase leading down the inside of the pillar left

Well guys and girls, I have been griefed rather badly, I have no idea who did it. Looks like burning and TNT.

I hollowed out a mountain but i just turned it into a disco...

That should be easy to fix. Just find people who had TNT in their inventory, and ban them! BAN THEM ALL.

I dont use TNT so im safe haha, im hardly on aswell.
