[query] Stynier, I am becoming concerned on your slowness of voting. We have all put forward valid reasons for Gwar, so it isn't a high-speed process.
And again his reasoning of "I'm innocent because I'm not guilty" doesn't really wash with me.
[conclusion] my vote stands.

And I am quite concerned with the quickness of your's. But I digress, I will pass my vote for Gwar, may the Emperor forgive me if I'm wrong.

If I am wrong I will at least die knowing that the defense fleet will never let the Xenos to Earth.

With Brother Stynier's vote the decision has been made. He leads the charge himself alongside Frenzied Potato, the only other man he fully trusts. Gwar! let's out a bleat of protest but Stynier pulled forth his Inquisitorial sidearm and finished Gwar! quickly. Ultrafool lurks quietly, unsure what to say about the proceedings.
"Now we will have the truth about this," snarled Stynier as he began to investigate the body. He opens Gwar's jacket and finds there a complete collection of the Space Puppies! comic book along with the fabled Jaws of the World Wolf is Really Game Breaking and here's how Design Manual that is almost impossible to find. "No heretic would read this!" Stnier's eyes narrowed as he stood up and spun around. Behind him he could already see Ultrafool collapsing in a pool of his own blood. Valhallan42nd stood over him, a knife in his hand and a grin on his face.
"Nice try, Inquisitor," smirked the xenos.
"Potato, Seanron, get behind me!" Stynier tried to raise his weapon but suddenly found his arm incapable of movement. He looked down at the mechanical arm gripping his hands tightly. Dark Lord Seanron grinned as he reached up and peeled back the metal pieces covering his mutant third arm.
"I do believe this charade is over now, for both of you." Frenzied snarled, an oath to the Emperor on his lips as he sprang forward. But Stynier could already tell how this situation would end. He glared at Seanron who had already dispatched Frenzied.
"Just tell me one thing, creature, what were you hoping to accomplish here?"
"Human," sneered the towering Magus, "that is for us to know, and for your failure of a race to discover all too late." His claws flashed, and Stynier knew only blackness.
============================
Genestealers Win!
Frenzied Potato - Imperial Citizen
Gwar! - Imperial Citizen
Brother Stynier - Inquisitor
Valhallan42nd - Genestealer
Dark Lord Seanron - Genestealer Magus
The game would have broken down thusly - with Gwar! dead the Genestealers could kill anyone in this night phase to achieve only 4 players left. At that point they could both vote for an Imperial citizen and either get him lynched or wait out the deadline timer.
Feel free to discuss freely now your thoughts and strategies. Feel free to mutter darkly about a player who appeared too scummy when he was innocent. And feel free to study up on what actions you thought would or would not serve you next time you find yourself in an enclosed area with a Genestealer agent on the prowl.

When DLS switched his votes between Lord-Loss and DarkO, I knew he was definately one. I think the townies were voting way too much on stories and not enough on vote patterns past the first round. That and we got impatient. Once a ball started rolling, everyone was all over that person to see him lynched.
Very well played by the baddies... I'm ready for the next one!

I'd like to thank my brood mother, and my brood mates, Manchu gets an honorable mention for his assist...
I think more than anything, it was lucky breaks on our part with Stynier's choices for his ability that sealed the Imperial's fate. That, and the fact that Gwar! and Ultrafool stayed relatively silent, allowing DLS and I to control the politics.

He also left you with a perfect opening setup with some of his initial votes. You barely had to shine a flashlight down the road to get a wagon moving on that one.
For me though, some of the best play was the period when Frenzied Potato actually pretty much had the entire thing figured out and the two of you managed to talk him out of it - brilliant work.
I'm also a little surprised you didn't kill Manchu sooner. Yeah, he was pressuring Seanron, but he was working hard to try to slow down votes, increase use of logic, and was starting to get somewhere with his vote analysis. What were your thoughts there?

That did suck. And with DLS on our side as a Magus, I knew we didn't have to fear Stynier any more. There was a post where I mentioned that I hadn't thought of such a tactic (using the magus to discredit the inquisitor) when DLS and I specificly discussed using that tactic to do so.
I almost gave it away at one point. We knew there was a Magus, and we knew there was a Psyker, so we both knew there had to be an inquisitor with the scenarios given by Thor. My whole "Oh, there are scenarios that have a psyker and no inquisitor" thing was a clumsy attempt to cover that I knew more than I should have. I'm glad that no-one picked up on it.
Thor665 wrote:I'm also a little surprised you didn't kill Manchu sooner. Yeah, he was pressuring Seanron, but he was working hard to try to slow down votes, increase use of logic, and was starting to get somewhere with his vote analysis. What were your thoughts there?
Manchu was a strong player (in both games), and I was all for his early end, but the first night was over the weekend that I had to go away. I left the choice in DLS's mechandrites, and I have to say that the choice of Mekboy worked in our favor. It threw the Imperial Players into confusion.

I was surprised you knocked me off so early. I thought you'd at least let me try and get some more kills in (sorry Orkeo!) if you had figured out who I was. But I know I played the Inquisitor role too sharply (for the second time!) and so drew too much attention. Even so, I was not eager to get the genestealers lynched. That would just leave more work for me and make it more apparent who exactly I was. Thor is right: I was all about slowing the votes down. I didn't like the confused voting because I was afraid they might actually hit upon a xenos rather than murdering each other. Paradoxically, the more "argument"--it's actually just a lot of hunches at heart--the more likely Imperials are to get frustrated and kill one of their own. It's always a good tactic to play Mr. Logic when you want to avoid Imperial suspicion--not so much when you want to avoid the bad guys. Kudos to the aliens for some excellent work!

Yeah, I think Valhallan has had some of the best scum play I've seen here. He went for a very long time without ever really ending up on anybody's radar and always seemed able to mumble enough sensible sounding excuses to ease his way out of the crosshairs. There was a while I was sure he'd be nailed with this last vote, but Ultrafool and Gwar! staying relatively silent really hurt their chances and basically left Frenzied alone with basically a pair of Devils to his Faust.
I will say overall I really liked Gornall's play too. He was a surprise mid game leader who almost seemed to be on to something as well. unfortunately for him by that time it was pretty easy to burn a night kill to silence him.

Gornall, Frenzied P. and Manchu were the only ones using logic, and so were the most dangerous.
If we had known your role, Manchu, beleive me, we would have let you live. I just figured you were the Inquisitor or the Assassin. All props to Thor for his narrative cut scene.
Lord-loss, your game play confused me. Were you trying to bait people into voting to establish patterns?
Either which, I think I'll sit the next one out and let some other people play. It's only fair.

Yeah I was all but sure. I couldn't get a straight answer to why they never voted eachother. That should of been enough evidence for me but I do not think I could of called a good enough rally after my last two bad guesses.
The reason I didn't stay on them was the lack of responses. When I was pinned with valhallan and DLS I had the feeling both were xenos. But how can one know unless everyone was there to participate in the conversation. Wasn't fair for other players to metagame that.
IE:
The only two people who responded have to be the xenos vote and vote....
Not fair IMO.
Good game I am more then up for another. Do let me know if you plan to run a third....I will admit lynching Gwar was a guilty pleasure.
