Hey Zinge,

You sent me a door with my order, it looks like the doors almost of the sides of the Leman Russ, are you planning on producing them, and if so when will we see them on the site?

Hey any chance of a picture for those doors Got my order once again great stuff all complete plus a few extras "always appreciated" was wondering the wire cables can we get them in longer lengths at all

Just to continue the show and tell here is my Zinge advertisement

I know it may not look as glamourise but this holds sentimental value as it was my fathers modelling box of tricks and holds many fond memories from my child hood as he made and created all my war kits when i was a little lad, so in its own way it is an honour.
And it goes every where with me even on holidays or those trips to the in-laws well you have to do something.

@ Mr Dog - Nice "toy" box

Pic below - should be available shortly.

Wrapped wires can be made longer but the process is difficult so they arent cheaper I can get up to 250mm fairly reliably which would cost £2.10 each any size.

Cheers

Kit

Zinge Those doors is there any chance of doing what I asked with these doors the smaller size versions I hope so seeing these would mean they would work perfectly

will check the length I need and get back to you on that one I might get away with the normal ones by going another root but longer might be better

Wow, does the hinge action work without tedious drilling and pinning?

The hinges are interference fit to pins or bolts

@ Mr Dog, - Re doors I would probably design a new door at that size - If there is room on my hatch sprue.

Stay tuned

Meaning, the pins or bolts are integral to the hinge? or that the housing is open to accept a pin?

No - There are no pins or bolts only an accurate cut groove that grps the door only good for positioning not "use"

Although snap fit self hinging doors is quite appealing - anybody else think so?

Zinge you are a star I hope you can just fit them on the sprue as my ideas are increasing so the need is increasing Will you keep them as close to the design of the bulkhead door though if you can do them

As for hinged doors yes would be a great idea for models with interior fittings but they are always tedious and prone to breaking but if it can be done I am sure you're the one to do it …….

Wouldn't snap-fit need to be made of something as hard as ABS?

@ Mr Dirty - yes and some new ideas and some reworks of some old models that never really cast properly.

No details just yet - when I have rough casts I will be certain to post.

I have been doing some work for Anvil Industies (No relation) and my Girlfriends MA project (No relation - thank god)

Cheers

Snap fit hingeswould be awesome!

I think its doable, just needs the right resin and hinge design i.e sufficient room for the part to "flex" without breaking..

Another option would be to design the door hinge pins so they "drop" down into the mounting brackets.. if that makes sense.. door could be removed by lifting upward but would normally just swing on the hinge..

Im trademarking the name "Zinge Hinge", you will have to purchase a licence to use it.. :p

you really need to do a "with hand" version of the pistols, otherwise its a total nightmare to use them on a mini!

Otherwise looking good!
