This army I'm toying with is not good. I dont even think it has the potential to ever work, but its fun.  I use Schaffer and his band as the HQ, all of my Necromunda gangs as Hive Militia troops, and a Inquisitor with his retinue, and assorted assasins, and a bunch of big IG tanks.

My question is: Does Schaffer count as an ally and can he lead a Defence force?

You're talking about the PDF list from Codex: Armageddon, right? The one that's no longer legal since the iG 'dex was released?

Codex Armageddon, yes. It also has KOS too. Speed Freaks are illegal now?

No, because there's not been a new Ork codex released.

help me out. I cannot see where it is stated that the armageddon codex is out.  GW site is near dead right now in UK and US and its taking hours to load pages.  It seems all links to armageddon are deleted and the FAQ does'nt mention the PD force....

They're dead because the codices they were based on have been revised. Only the Speed Freeks list is still valid because the codex it was based on is still valid. The PDF is not valid because it was based on the old Codex Imperial Guard which is also no longer valid.

A new day, a new time zone.

There are however, rules for using Schaeffer and Last Chancers in the new IG codex.

No one said that there wasn't. It's the PDF that's illegal.

Technically, doesn't this statement mean that the SW, DA, and BA supplemental codexes are dead?  I've been using the Wolves codex in 4th ed. with the current marine codex and the FAQ.  Just curious to see if I need to change to doctrined marines.

I've seen the Reaper Exarch with both weapon options and both look like things you can buy in sex shops. A weapon should not look like this, not even a Emperor's Children weapon. -Symbio Joe

No, because GW has stated that they're still usable. Where have they done so for the PDF list?
