Yes, no-one appointed me "sir handsome knight of the fair fluff maiden", yet I am titled for an opinion.

I'm a product designer by profession. I'd personally never design anything I don't think represents the values and best exemplifies, in a new valuable way the qualities of the product and possible brand. To me design is what, why and how, 99% in that particular order. I don't in ANYWAY doubt the attention. If Ferrari did a new design that in no way represented the heritage and their form factor, I'm sure it would cause an explosion of attention!

But Like I said, you do it for a living, my hat is off to you - I in no way mean to belittle what you do for a living. It's awesome that you can do what you do! Man's gotta do what a man's gotta do and eating/taking care comes first and perspective and values always differ. Sense of humor is VERY different.

My apologies for any hard feelings a critical view has caused in this context and I won't offer it again Looking forward to what you do next.

As I said via PM I did nothing I did not want to do. You speak as if I am whoring myself out to feed my starving children. Quit looking down your nose at it and start thinking outside the box. I went out of my way to do it because it is an original, never done before and fun idea.

I certainly don't!! Why are you reading into everything so aggressively? That certainly doesn't match the peace and love of the miniature subject matter. You said you do this a living and I should not look this from a hobby perspective alone, to which I agreed and said you have my respect. I further more commended you on your talent and other work.

I offered my apologies.

And now I need quit looking down my nose? And to start thinking outside the box You try soooo very hard to get personal, call me names and dismiss all the work I have done just because I disagree on one, a, ONE, concept in your projects. NICE!

This is just awesome Is that a marine hiding from the discharge of their plasma rifle like a little girl

I, too, sometimes chuckle at the "grimdark" future universe all this is set in, and I appreciate someone poking fun at it a little . This army is really well executed! Great job taking an idea all the way to fruition

I cant take credit for that, the reason I did it is because there is one of those inspiration image thingies floating around the internet with a marine in that same pose that says "Plasma, always worth it."

I love these models, and I think that in a BIG universe, there is enough room for them. And I mean that in ALL seriousness.

Let's the fair now; if we accept the 40K universe as a real universe which we peer into, we see armies like the Space Wolves and Blood Angels, and also see the Imperial Guard (in all flavors). There is a huge variation from the necessity of what an army has to be.

Look at sucessful historical armies - cool dress uniforms aside, they have all looked very similar to their contemporaries. This is an issue of practicality - something which 40K does not seem to need.

So, I think the idea of a chapter of Marines who eschew traditional imagery of butch masculinity and go for a more "Fabio" style is entirely realistic and in keeping with the Imperium. If I were a guardsman and some of these chaps turned up, I wouldn't think they were pansies. I would think they were 8ft tall killing machines with very beautiful armor, and an emphasis on heart imagery.

Heart imagery has been used in many places and by many people; crusaders made use of it, referencing the sacred heart of Jesus and the immaculate heart of Mary. While this army was born out of a silly idea, I think the final execution is, just about, close enough to serious to fit into the insanity which is 40K.

I feel the sudden urge to paint up a Company of red and yellow Marines, all armed with power bats and angry faces. And then throw them into battle against these Marines.

A good analysis, but the overall "Happy sunshine fun time peace-friends" attitude of Pretty Marines kind of kills it. But worry not. The people that Troll about folks doing meme armies are the ones that don't know the referances, have no ability to accept crude humor, or are just jealous because the joke army turned out better than their own serious projects. I love this army from a conversion standpoint. Though I do despise Pretty Marines as a Chapter

Uh, I mean, grown men playing with toys they hand painted themselves...yeah. Nothing gay about that at all.

Those are gorgeous. I am a big fan of purple, but you dont see it a whole lot on Space Marines.

Just Emperor's Children and Soul Drinkers...both traitors.

It's a beautiful paint job, and the conversions are masterful.
