Oh and les , is there world wide shipping included in the price or ?

Aww man that sucks... kind of like what happened to my model. I recovered though and fixed all of the unwanted paints spots and got it back to a nice clean looking model... then I totally ruined the model trying to weather it haha. "When weathering goes wrong", could be the caption for my model.

Lol Well , one of the paint pots whas foundation and well .. theres no saving it . For an example one of the hands muscle detail is all gone . Its just one clump of paint waiting to get scraped off . It's gonna have to wait longer , becouse im gonna find something else to paint

And you know theres a curse on you'r model when something go'es terrebly wrong two time

Just received the first entry! And after getting it, along with a back story for the vehicle, I'd love to see others come up with a story for their entries if they would like! I can post them with their fluff in the gallery for people to check out the inspiration behind your piece!

++++++++

gretar, sounds rather rough x.x.... Hope you aren't discouraged by the mishap! Still plenty of time left!

Brilliant idea!

The background is a huge part of my entry so happy that I get to explain it a bit further! Hopefully it will be pretty self evident though....

Cheers,

Oh wow, two entries in already? I guess I'll have this one down to the wire. Assembly: Done. Conversion: Mostly done. Primed: on the finished parts. A little more than two weeks to go and brush hasn't even touched model. Hooboy.

Oh man, these weeks have not been kind to you Gunzhard. Maybe all of this destruction will leave the model looking beat up enough to enter?

We've got what? 11 Days to go?

I know I've gotten bogged down! But I'm slowly trudging through with the model. This is one of the harder challenges we've ever done and the usual 'it's not looking right' has hit me with my entry! I had much the same feeling with my Land Raider though ^_-.

How's your entry coming?

I can post my WIP for the theme. Waiting for some accessories to add last touches but looks like I'll get done at the wire

I wasn't going to enter this, but I've just been reminded of the remains of a =][= in the bottom the of my bits box. It's covered in paint and has been hacked about a bit time and again over the years. Time to strip all that paint off and get it on life support to try to make something out of it in the next week.

I'm also at the 'it's not looking right' phase too. Though I mostly recovered from the last big mess I made. I sort of flubbed the greenstuff work, which I clearly should have done before I started painting anyway but it's not too noticeable. Once I straighten out the colors here, and somehow make it look 'right', I'll just need to base it and add some final details. My narrative is pretty much done - cheesy but fun.

EDIT: I think a major obstacle in this for me will be taking a quality photograph.

Ditto, Ditto but I just encountered a bright spot. I had it stuck in my head that Sunday night (The 1st) was the deadline and I was not gonna make it but checking the thread has filled me with a great sense of relief . But, it still isn't looking quite right and I have to remind myself I have a few steps to go.

I hope we all post some really cool stuff!

I've built mine, but now the weather is too bad to spray it, so it's currently on hold. Bah.

I know you can get away with spraying if you move really quickly... I had to do that myself recently. It works if you only have one or two things to spray, you run outside, spray, and rush the model inside as fast as you can. The paint will smell a bit as it dries but the fumes shouldn't be too bad.

I did that this morning before work, still a bit blustery though. It's a pain mid week because it's dark by the time I get home and really is too cold. The rest of the time there's either a lot of wind or it's actually raining. I wouldn't bother if there wasn't a deadline, on the other hand it'll be ready (just) for painting by the time I get home.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Just started on my entry. Damn getting married and going on honeymoon getting in the way of painting!

Not very far along with it, but I will grab some supplies from the 24 hour Tesco over the road (salt and hairspray etc) when I go and get some stuff for dinner.

Have a vague idea as to what I will be doing, just hope that it looks ok, even if it does not win anything

Congratulations! And best of luck on completing your model. You have a good reason to be behind... I on the other hand... don't.

Way above you guys

I know one technique I think is possible:

Add glue to mud, add a sliver to the paint brush (before the glue dries, or glue later), paint or side and tracks, then wait to dry. Handle carefully as it ruins models permanently and may shake off. Just make sure there are as few stones as possible in it. Another torture paint you can do is freeze your model (in a DRY cooler, or else the drops of condensation ruin everything) and smash the model with a nail and hammer on a few pinpoints. If frozen enough, it give a bullet dent and maybe some spallation cracks!! A greaty muddy, holey model, complete with coffee stains and a few sooty traces

Try it, I haven't!

Edit: Errrr....having read the rest of this thread...I..I don't think tghis is necessary (shut up noob)
