Amazing work. Makes me wish I had some termies and my bro would let me have some of his nid stuff; scything talons mostly.

As for your first insperational pic, the one with the demon int he middle, chick on either side holding up the pentagram. The demon in said picture is the mythological demon Baphomet.

I could provide a few pics of other mytho demons to inspire some more amazing work if you would like.

You know, after Christmas (where I'm bound to get something 40k/mold based), I'm going to start a project along the lines of this with multiple pieces that I can swap. It'll help bring my Primarch to life in a way I'd absolutely love. Keep it up!

I'd really love to see that. Which primarch are you planning on using?

It'll be a custom Primarch. I have a certain affinity for Coheed and Cambria and it sets itself up well for a multi use Primarch. So, Coheed will be my Primarch. I've been working on his fluff so you may see that soon enough.

Zippity zap, the boo is asleep so I managed to knock out the 1st stage primer, get everything filed down a bit more to remove the edges, and the legs are curing! IMO the upper thighs have a "ballonish" look to them, but the edges are sharp and the finish is relatively smooth. Everything will be getting 2nd stage primer in a couple of hours when the legs are cured. Yay! Paint starts tonight.

Primer is finished (two stage with smoothing)! The GS work is still rough, but I'm COMPLETELY satisfied for my first ever attempt at real conversion. Paint is starting in about 5 minutes.

The armor is going to be black with a silver or bronze trim.

All of them. I've got all the pieces that will be bright/vivid color undercoated with Adeptus Battlegrey, and I'm working on doing 2 arms and a head Iron Warriors style. Most of the armor plating will be black and a few parts (gun parts, blades, etc) are undercoated with Boltgun metal....currently getting the 2nd layer of wash for shadowing before starting to try and develop highlights. I am however a little concerned about doing the yellow and black freehand stripes. Fortunately, I have a woman that wants me to freehand some stuff on her toenails....kinda odd but I figure its a damn good way to practice. Also nice that if I really screw up I can strip each part instead of having to do the whole model.

Told my boo that I needed freehand practice and she suggested I try on her toes.....so I did! Did you know hood rat's pay a whole bunch of money for folks to do this?

Also learned that teflon nail polish makes citadel paints look really amazing and "wet".....and its really really tough.

As much fun as this project has been, and as much as I'm learning from it....I'll never do this level of magnetization again. On the positive side, I could probably pin a model in no time with what I've learned about dynamic posing, load bearing points, and getting a halfway decent GS smooth over joins.

Its also sparked quite the interest in Iron Warriors from me....a legion that likes huge guns, cybernetics, and is the source of a techno-organic virus? Yes preeezze!

Stripping the cannon backpack so I can make it look cohesive....that green won't mesh up with the direction I'm taking the model.

Its Reaper Olive Green with 1 wash of Citadel Thraka Green, then a wash of 1 part Devlan Brown and 1 part Thraka Green. Honestly....I think it looks good enough for a quickie tabletop color with only those 3 layers.
