I still categorically refuse this whole "boozing" stereotype of the Wolves, as that makes them an even bigger joke in my mind.

Still, whats the point of being a nearly invincible, immortal superhuman if you can't have fun? Oh, right- there is none except to fight and die. SW are not and will never be a joke unless GW makes every single piece of equipment a 'wolf' thing. That's kinda (in hte viking sense) The way they were designed, like an ancient civilisation (all SM chapters are).

What I want to know is where are the Drunk Irish Marines? I bet they would have just as much fun as the SWs.

I think SW are supposed to represent all of the northern tribes... but I'd love to see an army of green space marines drinking ale. Use space marine rules... hmm... gives me an idea...

Yeah a Leprechaun Chapter that are much more humorous than the rest of the chapters...

Right, but boozing and fighting to live so you can do MOAR FIGHTING is better.

It's still pointless for biological killing machines and out of character for the new "more wolf, less viking" theme of the Wolves. The boozin' and partyin' Wolves are just pandering to adolescents, it's impossible to take seriously, even more so than the rest of 40K.

You seem to be assuming that they're stagging, picking fights with inanimate objects _drunk_. Even with that particular organ shutting down, I doubt they'd ever really be that drunk. What's wrong with them drinking? 'Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die!' seems to be the SW theme. They're not stupid, but they _are_ barbarians. And as stupid as it seems for a warrior to drink... they often do. look at most cultures, especially the 'savage' ones. Drinking is part of the culture, but they only got drunk during 'downtime'. Well, the smart ones anyways. the stupid ones got drunk before battle and died.
