Gave me a good laugh, that did.

I bet they also have a weekly live-fire exercise with some psykers.

I'm sure you can guess what role they play.

There are some who walk until their legs fail them and they fall to the ground. I find that respectable.
Then there are those who drag themselves further. I find that admirable.

I think its mostly dinking... they do hunt Fenrisian Game, though, and fight, and bet with eachother over it... I think they have it best out of all the chapters. Just seems like the most fun.

If we go by the latest established canon, Space Wolves don't do that much "drinking", at least not in the sense everyone here is using that word. They don't drink booze, since it's impossible for a Space Marine to get drunk anyway. The mjod they drink is a combination of blood, various nutrients, combat stimulants, and something akin to battery acid.

I mean come on, the idea that these utterly devoted warriors will spend their downtime getting wasted is quite ludicrous. The whole Viking thing is slowly being bled out of the Wolves, thankfully.

What?
They do drink booze, as GT already explained (and myself as well), there is a rare herd found on Fenris (and other places) that overcomes a SMs natural resistance to alcohol (poisons). The mead they drink is also ridiculously strong and helps to overwhelm them.

Booze not mentioned in Prospero Burns, nor in Battle of the Fang. Doing anything that reduces their mental faculties just seems extremely out of character.

I personally like those personifications of Space Wolves, rather than the King versions where they all come across as stupid teenagers that fight and fart and drink all day. The time you say they are drunk they would more likely spend on more training. YMMV.

Again, the latest canon kind of bled out the silly viking stuff. Getting drunk on a deathworld = super stupid. They described as drinking mjod, not alcohol.

I disagree, a .75 caliber (3/4 of an inch in diameter) is just smaller than a 20mm cannon that being .78 caliber. That size round hitting anything but the elephant size or above is the like hitting hitting a rabbit with a 12 gauge slug. It's not going to leave alot of usable meat. IMHO

Well them space wolves, they're pretty cool dudes that doesn't afraid of anything.

Their party attitude is one of the things that I'm ambivalent about, myself.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

This conversation is irrelevant, since no Space Wolf worth his salt would actually hunt for game using a weapon. They'd strip down naked and hunt by tooth and claw.

One wonders what some of the 'lost' Primarchs are doing. We know that Ferrus Mannus, Sanguinus and Rogal Dorn are dead; Gulliman's chillin' on his seat, busy being a tourist attraction to create revenue for the Smurfs, and Lion El'Johnson is playing on his Xbox deep inside the rock. But we don't truly know where all the others went. Me and my brother eventually decided that they're just chilling on a beach, waiting for the last battle to arrive, presumably along with Eldrad who's just joined them and Commander Farsight who got tired of being told he can't chop stuff up into little pieces.

Incidentally, in reference to the Space Wolf thing, I prefer Bill King's version of the Wolves getting drunk and brawling all over the place. Practice? These guys would fight over a mug of spilled ale, they get plenty of practice! Plus they're Viking Space Marines for God's sake, of course they're gonna drink and fight, its obligatory to their vibe.

This is 40k my friend. The unknown and the vague can be whatever the hell we want it to be, and as far as I'm concerned, the more outlandish, comedic and kickass, the better.

Ah, but a few of his spirit stones were rumored to have survived, and some believe his soul is still whole and struggling against the warp. It's these uncertainties and unknowns that make 40k interesting. Sure, they're usually slight, but the possibility of them being true is too cool to abandon, IMO.

Touche, i didnt know about his spirit stones, but i would have thought his spirit would be tied to those rather than in the warp?
I am totally with you on ambiguity and uncertainty making the fluff great (not all the time, some of the vagueness sucks , but most of it is great)

I'm at your window

Black templars spent most time praying and mantaining their relics and of course killing what they want.

Tali'Zorah: I appreciate what you're doing here, Shepard.
Commander Shepard: Well, I care deeply about the quarian people.
Tali'Zorah: It's good to be back on the Normandy.
Commander Shepard: Let me know if it's too quiet for you to sleep, and I'll find you someplace louder.
Tali'Zorah: Hmm.
Garrus Vakarian: Uh, I was there when you two had your thing, remember? Just get a room and work it out.
