I'm going to go ahead and say Liam Neeson, or *prepare for flak storm* Leonardo DiCaprio. Maybe in a decade or so... I think a commissar would need to be played by someone at least 45 years old.

Deff Rolla them until they are grey goo. Apply boyz to flavor. Serve over ice.

Have you seen Fillions role in Buffy? For those who haven't, he plays an evil preacher named Caleb. Over the course of his role he stabs 2 girls, breaks anothers arm, snaps 1 girls neck and gouges out the eye of one the main characteres with his thumb... Thats pretty Commissar worthy to me. I would also be happy to see him play a more troop friendly role though maybe a sergeant or such?

EDIT* - When i think about it, I'm pretty sure that all happens in the same episode.

Never seen Buffy, just going off him in Firefly, Dr. Horrible, and Castle and his general goofy nature seems unfit for the role.

Micheal Ironsides. The greatest B Movie actor of all time.

No joke, when I was 12 or 13 my friend and I rented... (yes I said "rented") a pile of movies. 15 to be exact.

After a long weekend of random B-Movies we had a new respect for Micheal Ironsides as he was in 11 of the movies!

If you don't know who I'm talking about, it's the teacher/officer in Starship Troopers. Ratjack or something...

I don't know about the flak storm, the march of time has hit DiCaprio like a bag of fething bricks. He's far from that baby-faced hearththrob for little girls he was in the 90s, and he's been picking interesting roles for himself. He could probably play the slightly more human Commissar, who understands the necessity of war and what he does, but also doesn't go Commissar Fukclaw on everyone's ass over every little thing.

I would have to say Sean Bean, anyone who has Seen him in "Patriot Games" knows just how intense of an actor he can be, thats perfect for a Commisar character if you ask me!

Hell no, he can play the cult leader that started the planet-wide insurrection the IG are fighting against.

Upon thinking about it more, I vote he is played entirely by James Earl Jones's voice.

this would work especially well for a DKoK commissar, because then it wouldnt matter who was in the suit, similar in vein to darth vader.

He has my vote, especially if he starts throwing out quotes like he did in pulp fiction. He would be one bad mutha f commisar .

I was going to say no to Nathan Fillian until I was reminded of his role in Buffy. And then thought it would be brilliant!
I remember 2 guys I think would be a good commisar: Clancy brown and Michael Wincott. AKA The Kurgan from the original Highlander, and Top Dollar from The Crow.
