I am going to have to wait to paint my Salamanders as the person I am borrowing the paint from declined my offer to buy it off of him. So I have to wait to get the paint.

Here is my Captain. He took me awhile! I have made a decision that I will paint up my entire force like this with detail and sell my Space Marine force for a profit. Then I will make Grey Knights my standing army.

Don't fall into the trap that you MUST oNLY use GW paints either, that is BS. I use whatever color I like from many manufacturers, GW, Vallejo, P3, Polly Scale acryl, , Testors acryl, even cheap craft paint.

Damn, Those minis look awesome HONAW i'm honing my painting skills but cant get them far as neat as the CF/salamander marines they always look so slobby what am i doing wrong?

Great work on the Command Squad Veteran Sergeant, he looks really nice.
I can't say I'm a fan of the backpack being left black but that really does come down to personal taste.
I'd say If you are leaving it black you should at least highlight it, as it's looking rather flat at the moment.
Nitpicking aside he is an awesome mini and you should be proud!

I always have trouble highlighting black. I will have to try highlighting with chainmail silver. I wish it was not in the scheme for Salamanders.

To highlight black, you used to have to mix black and grey to get a very dark grey, now GW has Charadon Granite and Vallejo has grey-black- these are wonderful for highlighting black.

I disagree. The dark highlights are less striking. I would reccomend a lighter gray, like adeptus battlegrey or even codex grey on the really hard edges. Black is tough; the highlights have to be extremely thin.

We will see what works! I am questioning getting Grey Knights as I am tired of the Imperium as it gets stale pretty quick. I might get Orks as they are far from stale! I never really get to play a game so I really want something fun to paint. I heard that the battle force is not the way to go with orks..... is this true?
