If nothing else, I'd really like a way to 'favorite' certain forums and have them all in a single list. I, for one, like reading Dakka Discussions, 40k General, (occasionally) YMDC, and the Video Games and Off-Topic forums. I know it's supremely lazy, but a way to not have to scroll past 19 other forums that I don't really care about would be nice.

A dedicated News & Rumors Crew and News/Rumors page(that only the crew/admins could post on) so that we don't have to read through threads just to find info.

Something like Seiberton's front page:

And if people want to follow it with RSS or such, have it separately followable.

In the "my subscribed threads" section, why not section it by

- threads created by me
- p & m threads
- news and rumour threads

etc

That'd be awesome - to know at a glance at the relevant section that one of my threads had been commented on, or an update to a rumour I'm looking out for; it means I don't have to sift through every thread name that's in no particular order in the "my subscribed" bit.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
(when I say, created by me, I do ofcourse mean each user - I'm not after a dedicated Kitch102 section )

How about the ability to post multiple threads under one larger thread?

Ie

Main thread title - My Dark Eldar fiction
Sub thread 1 - first story
Sub thread 2 - second story

etc

I'm putting this forward as it would make tracking certain threads (in this case, the stories I'm writing on my Archon, Ardath Dei) easier - they'd all be in one location instead of scattered throughout the forum based on their age / number of posts

Not sure if this has been suggested yet, and i cant be bothered to read through 4 pages to check,
A commission blog only, section

Having all the commission modellers and painters in one place, would make things easier if you needed their services.
Personally, I like to see what the experts are doing and garner any inspiration I can.
And, with a monsoon of respect, its slightly annoying having to troll through all the blogs that pile up in the P/M blog section

EDITED: for spelling mistakes made at 4.30 am with no sleep and halfway through physics coursework!
thanks for the heads up Dysartes

Compulsory testing of the user's ability to write in English if their flag indicates they are from a country known to be primarily English-speaking - i.e., UK, USA, Aus, NZ, Can, etc.

Seriously, some of the writing by native speakers is appalling.

When you ignore someone, they are ignored - utterly, no things like seeing them having posted in a thread that you have an interest in.

Make it like they dont exist to you as a user

Please, I beg of you, change the log in process.

I hate having to go to a different page to log in, then get redirected back to the main forum, then go hunt for the thread (again) I wanted to post in.

It would be SOoo much better to be able to log in and not leave the page I'm on.

Whilst it would be unfair and really impractical to "force" users, would it be possible to put in some "very strong hints" to upload their pics to the dakka galleries rather than external host sites? (assuming Legos ok with that).

Would we thik of redoing the front page?

Its a little cluttered and unclear as to whats what.

From the PoV of new users coming to the site to see what its about.

Being 100% honest if I saw it as it is now, I'd think it was a bit of a haphazard indy site, not the very professional set up that is within. Just being honest.

The top left of every post is a little page that links to the specific post. Sort of clunky but is possible to do so. Like this.
Guess you could screw around with the formatting of it to make the colour better than it is, but that would have to assume that every uses the same scheme and for the work safe ones white text just doesn't work.

The alternative that looks more sensible is this. Probably much more friendly to links within the quote as well.
Barksdale wrote:When someone quotes something from within a thread, it would be nice to have a button that takes you back to the original post being quoted.

Which is just wrapping the url tags around the quote's first tag. While the first was simply wrapping the quote entirely with the url tags.

By no means user friendly I suppose. But, just trying to sort of make it look easyish to implement.

Indeed I did. Its still a bit disappointing, as so much of my forum browsing is done on my tablet/phone and is making me use Warseer more. What is the reasoning behind using a custom-rolled forum software?
Regardless, the single biggest possible improvement to warseer for me would be Tapatalk, or failing that, a better mobile experience in some other way.
